i'm 18 yo male from russia and i really want to speak my mind about the russian enforced conscription. it's fucking hell, i don't wanna go there, i'll do ANYTHING to not go there. enforced conscription in russia violates laws regarding free travel, personal autonomy and forced labor. assuming you guys don't know how bad the russian military service is, i'll explain:
you have to serve for one whole year, only men around age 18-30 can get conscripted. overall conditions there are shit, absolutely zero comfort. you'll go out on a shooting range at least two times during the whole year (if you get lucky enough), then rest of the time it's just forced labor, in most of the countries where military service is mandatory, you get a monthly allowance for serving, meanwhile in russia? nah, you get nothing. the worst part about russian military service is the mental and physical abuse. you can get beaten up for no reason by a senior officer, because they are allowed to do that. i'm not making this up, there are thousands of incidents like this, many people who served actually reported multiple cases of physical abuse and even suicides. hell, there's even an unofficial term that exists in russia regarding this type of brutalization
and also, conscription is the #1 method of how you can end up in Ukraine. since 2022, senior officers are now forcing conscripts to sign a contract so they'll get sent straight to Ukraine. if you somehow hold out all the physical abuse, there's still a slight chance you can end up in Ukraine. why? well, you see, russia annexed Ukrainian territories recognized by the international law like Kherson, entire Zaporozhiye region, Luhansk and some part of the Donetsk. to not mistake with occupying russia actually annexed those territories, which means that these territories are now in russia's shit constitution. so basically, sending a pack of conscripts to, for example, Donetsk, wouldn't be considered as something illegal because technically those are "russian" territories since they exist in the russian's constitution. since there is no evidence of conscripts being in those annexed territories i doubt that what i just said is real, still, they can and will send you to the Ukrainian borders, evidence of conscripts being at the russo-Ukrainian borders (Kursk, Crimea, Belgorod and other regions) does exist, however.
for 18 years this country offered me nothing and i have to offer this country everything including my life? fuck no, fuck this nazi piece of shit of a country, i hate it. i swear i'll do everything to not get conscripted, i'll slice my fingers off if i have to, i'll break my legs if i have to, i'll run for my life if i have to, everything. being a russian conscript is a fate worse than death.
i'm sorry if i got too political here, i just can't stand this bullshittery
