i am also colored. Not living in the US. Though I am pretty sure I can move over there and get PR (background, education, etc.).... because of what I do i know you guys (like other countries.... Spain the most obvious atm.... Canada was leading it before) looking at foreigners to make up for labor shortages and well productivty. I will never CTB over politics. Don't let yourself ever..... EVER.... be manipulated by people who don't give a shit about you. Left, right, center..... the people that get airtime (politicians) don't give a FUCK about you. They only act like they do when its around time to be elected. Or well if it will influence them being elected. I hear your complaints. I feel for you. But for me you getting swept up. You are on the path to ruin your already shit life (don't be on me.... i am on a pro-CTB site.... i am f'd up as well due to circumstances) to gaslighting. If u want to live or CTB. Do it on YOUR TERMS. YOUR EXPERIENCES! Not cause of some fking shill that never lived a day in your shoes. That said, Reps imo are the best among the worst. Dems were too much. Like they were accommaditing things go to shit once they were in power. Example, Kamala, oh yh Biden was obviously senile. Why we tried to tell u guys otherwise and shamed and attacked others who did that? Hey look Julia Roberts, Beyonce, Taylor Swift, etc. is going to perform (consume product and shut up idiots)

But that's my point. Both major parties support socialism when it suits their needs. It's just that one side tries to demonize socialism as a bad thing across the board and refuses to acknowledge the socialism that they like. I'm not saying all socialism is always good. I'm just saying the side that seems to be the most vocally against it doesn't want to admit they quite like socialism when it funds or supports something or someone they like.

It's the "team" aspect of politics and society that grinds me. Everyone is expected to pick a side and ride or die with that side no matter what. If your side wants it, then it is great... but if the other side wants it then it sucks. You don't even have to go back too far to see this. Ronald Reagan was for amnesty for illegal immigrants that had been here a long time and had not been in legal trouble. Democrats were against it back then. Bill Clinton was more anti-immigration than Republicans back in the 1990s. Then both sides switched at some point and the Republicans became concerned about it while Democrats started looking the other way. There is certainly a problem with our immigration policies and enforcement, its just people in power like the way things work when it suits them and don't when it doesn't. Even during Trump cracking down, he wanted to allow immigration loopholes for people who come here to work on farms and hotels and such... which is weird, either illegal immigration is a problem or it isn't... not "it's a problem unless I own a hotel or a farm and then I look the other way 'cause cheap labor!"

The left and right thing in modern politics are more illusion than reality. Some people have some lines in the sand where they have solid policy... but for most things, they are fluid and will go where the wind blows to get them votes to get in office so they can enrich themselves and their buddies. Democrats and Republicans do this, not necessarily equally... it's fair to say at any given time one party is measurably worse than the other... but we aren't talking good vs evil... we're talking about selfish vs selfish and it depends on which things you like or need as to which party is favoring you... not necessarily what is good for the most people in the country.

As for "defund the police"... that was a lot of overblown rhetoric. Sure, there were some people that wanted more investigation into police and how they spent money, which I'd argue our government needs across the board... Not that DOGE fiasco... but an actual accounting of departments state and federal to see what they are doing with the money they are given through taxes. So, police departments that are wasteful or abusive maybe do need budget cuts... so that there is more money for the efficient understaffed police forces to get more money. But, buzzwords are all anyone has time for... so "defund the police" became a thing to divide people over when it was never the actual issue that needed addressing.

Incidentally, the buzzwords and double-speak are nice for both parties... because they not only divide the voters among themselves and distract from scrutinizing power, but it also allows obfuscation so that at any given time each side can say "that's not what I said" or "that's not what I mean" and give them wiggle room to switch sides if the public gets more unified behind the opposite thing.
Except Bank Bailouts aren't "socialism".... you know, the process of everyone contributing to a fundamental need by most in society. It's a similar concept in practice in that everyone is chipping in for it, but we aren't all benefiting as far as receiving in return. It's argued as a saving grace for the greater good that's all. I don't have a problem with your attempts to tie the two together as being similar. It's how it's practiced in the sense that when carried out some very wealthy people remain very wealthy when they're the ones who majorly screwed up and should be in line to receive some of the dole.

As someone who opposes so called "democratic" socialism in practice I'm offended that you think I and the rest who think similarly automatically support certain bailouts. And absolutely offended that you said they don't want people receiving. I'm at a loss for where you got those ideas but I shouldn't be. It's obviously crap I don't watch which never comes up in debate so the beliefs are never challenged. Even if those who agreed would changed their minds about other people if they actually knew the truth.
