so in the books which describe how to use inert gas (helium or nitrogen)
the process seems fairly straight forward.

except for suggesting a way to self strap your arms down.

However I have noticed a lot of members complicating the process,
buying scuba gear, gas masks, and what not.

Is there a piratical reason for this which may increase the chances of success
or did it just come into its own as a way to go out with a bang?
