Maybe that's the problem, you should be screwing the regulator on all the way, or leaks will happen. If you have leaks in the setup, it'll take longer for the bag to fill up. But if you can't screw it all the way, you should get a different regulator.

Thanks, outrider. Much like MaxDog, if they were selling regulators they were likely not manufacturing them. Medline here in the US and Cramer Decker Medical seem to be sources of the regulators with the black dial on the side. Do you have one of those? If so is there any additional information on the regulator itself?
From what I've read you can use an argon regulator, but instead of 15 lpm it needs to 17 lpm because helium/nitrogen and argon are not the same. There's been some discussion about that conversion, so I'm not 100% sure.

Airgas won't sell regulators, you'll need to buy those online. If you are in a situation where you can't order items to your house, there are stores where you could have shipped to the store for pickup. Grainger for example.
I can't speak for all experiences ofc, but when I purchased my N2 from Airgas they didn't ask me any questions. I was in and out in 2 minutes. If you have to say something you could say laser cutting. The welding shop employee isn't likely to know much about that to question you. Just spend a few minutes online/chatgpt learning the basics.
If they do ask which they shouldn't , just keep it simple I wouldn't even do any research or anything , just say getting it for my boss / running an errand for your boss/ running errand for your friend and I have no idea why he needs it if you act like you know what it's for and they keep asking questions they'll know you don't know shit . This happened to me once wish would played more dumb rather than act like I was a welder

I'm not sure what nature of your ailments are , but my opinion ( and I'm pretty confident) is that from the trauma and stress of the experience you induced some symptoms , stress related , nervous system rerated. You are already in an extremely stressed situation , ( as we all are ) . Pretty confident inert gas wouldn't do anything like this UNLESS you were oxygen deprived enough where you went unconscious., then anything is on the table .
No. It is highly unlikely the hotel would have gas detectors in a hotel room. The sound of the gas escaping is very quiet, assuming you are using a regulator. If you open the tank without a regulator, it will make a very high pitched sound of air escaping a very small hole.
Not only unlikely , it's not possible . Most of the air we breathe is the same composition as what's coming out of the tank . Also it really isn't that loud . The tv on mid volume would probably mask any noise from the tank
