I've been watching these true crime snippets on YouTube to kill time but always end up feeling super depressed afterwards; when they pull up those clips of the family discussing how loved the victim was -- just generally speaking fondly of them -- it makes me feel so envious. Want to be wanted I guess. How cruel is it to derive jealousy from their testimonies? It's obvious they're grieving, pained ... feels so selfish to be thinking this way. It's so lonely to be human.

Totally agree with you, as far as someone at the office who has a family member or close relative pass away and all the grieving about how loved they were and how they are so sorely missed.

It is like Christmas time, so many at the office always ask me, "so going to a family member for the holidays for lots of good food and cheer?" Then I have to swallow hard and say that I have no family nor friends to enjoy the holidays with and so many just look at me with a blank face and I am so jealous of them.

Is this wrong of me? Do not know
.
But I will say this, my good friend @Mayfly, you, I and so many others still have each other here and yes it may feel "gross" or whatever term one wants to apply to it, however, we ALL here are so much stronger together and nothing can ever take that away.

Have a wonderful week and lots of well wishes to you.

Walter

I think it's natural to want to feel loved and valued by your family and friends. When you think about it, it's a pretty basic need really. The trigger you mentioned is a bit more complicated because obviously- there's a lot of grief involved there. You're not exactly wishing that on people though. You just wish you could imagine people caring enough to feel like that about you. I'm sorry that you haven't had that kind of support but I think it's fair to feel envious of others that have it.
