Discussion Dreading My 25th Birthday

I really thought my birthday last year would be my final one. But I have decided to really try to turn things around in 2026. It is really difficult but I'm trying. If things don't get better by the end of the year then I'll resume my plans to ctb. Anyways this means that I'll have another birthday and I don't know what to do. I've hated my birthday since my teens for lots of reasons. I have a lot of bad memories associated with that time of year. I was sectioned for the first time on my 20th birthday. There have also been many birthdays where I've been forgotten or let down by family & friends. Part of me also believes that I don't deserve to be celebrated. I don't know where that comes from though. I also find the attention quite overwhelming but when people forget my birthday I get upset Last year I took myself away for the weekend so maybe I could do that again?

Do other people struggle with their birthday too? I'm so anxious just thinking about it.

Thank you it's such a difficult time of year isn't it. I don't know if I'm going to go away again this year. I just want to do something on the day to distract me from how I'll be feeling. This is random but I've wanted to go to a rage room for years. That might be therapeutic

I've never heard of a rage room before. I can definitely see how that could help. How'd you find out about that?

I've just seen them on social media. Seems like a fun activity

i hate my birthday also. it's the only time my dad who hates me reaches out.

it feels like he's mocking me more than anything because he knows how desperate i am for his love.

Same honestly. I can't see myself making it to 30. Saying that I didn't think I'd see 20 and I'm nearly 25
