Seen many people here thinking lethal injections are a nice way to go, but it's quite the opposite..


My CTB dream would be a machine built for CTB, approved by the government, and any one may use it. Just step into the chamber, close the door, then when you're ready, no stress, you've got half an hour on you before it's someone else's turn. Just hit the red button and you're gone. Not a single atom of your body remains. You've just ceased to exist within less than a millisecond. If you change your mind and want to back out, then no sweat, just open the door and walk away and come back and try next day again if you want to.

There are two ideals

1. Saving someone else from a bullet. Someone who is happy and had much to live for. I push them out of the way, run in front of them, and take the bullet for myself. I die quickly and painlessly, get remembered as a hero.

2. Take SN. I would go out to a place where the ocean and the forest meets, and sit on the beach. No one is nearby. I would take enough pills to get the "getting high" effect, since I can't stand the taste of wine or beer. I would swallow the SN quickly, rinse it out with a mint or some extra strong toothpaste. I would time it correctly so that I would get knocked out when the effects of SN start, or if I don't get knocked out, then the "getting high" effect comes into play when SN starts. That would hopefully make it less unbearable. I would have music playing in my headphones, blasting it as loud as I can, blocking out the noise of the world. And then, as the sun starts to set, take my last breath of the cool, salty air.

This is brilliant. I always wanted to go sailing for rest of my life and one day I think I will try join a merchant ship crew. Travel and learn about seafare. Then get my own boat and sail aimlessly until it ends somehow. Maybe Somali pirates, sinking, stop at uninhabited island to explore or something unexpected at least ends it for me. What an adventure.

Thank you, that definitely sounds like an adventure. I've loved the sea for many years and always wondered if my ancestors were sailors or fishermen.

This one is kinda out there. But if we're just sandboxing it, I'd like to be orbiting the Earth in a spacesuit, untethered, just floating free. Once I'm ready, I'd just lower the suit pressure gradually and fade to black with the ultimate view.

Great addition about the confidentiality. Also another addition would be that you have to be an adult before you are allowed to use it.

I would like to post this on reddit's anti-natalism subreddit but it's really insane how you can't even mention suicide in any abstractly positive way at all on Reddit and most other places on the internet. It's taboo level is over 9000 really.

But the reason why I like this idea for anti-natalism is because it's going to be almost impossible to convince the whole world that we should stop breeding, so this type of machine which any adult may use would be a good middle ground for natalists and anti-natalists to meet at. Then everyone who didn't want to be born, all the anti-natalists can go back to not existing again.
