From what I've seen here, most people describe SN as extremely salty, making it hard to swallow—like a gross cocktail shot. Is there a salty drink with a similar taste that you could drink to prepare, or is it futile?

An idea is to drink water that is mixed with some regular salt.
I was thinking something like this could help—thanks for replying. If I become more tolerant to salt, I'll be extremely relieved. I've thrown up pre-workout before (it tastes very salty to me and dissolves like salt does). I know most people vomit from SN, but I'm hoping to minimize this. I believe "taste training" might work with time.

Why not with a tube straight to throat skipping taste buds?

that is an idea and could work to prevent tasting it but that won't prevent the vomiting of it. Anti emetics are usually used with the SN method to lessen the chances of vomiting but you can potential maybe lessen your chances of vomiting by getting used to by drinking other salty liquids.

I'm afraid that bypassing taste buds will not be enough. If it was that simple, antiemetics wouldn't be presented as such important step in SN "manual".
It's a poison after all. And even if you drink too much ordinary salty water you'll vomit too. Just a defensive reaction.

Yeah I don't think it will help with vomiting but if the taste alone makes it hard to swallow, at least it skips that part.
