  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

I live in the UK. I know I'd need to get a visa and have proof of plans and enough money to cover my stay…would my body be sent back if no one claimed it? If I got rid of all documents, would I be identified?

Fingerprints, and DNA make me say yes. You will eventually be identified.

Do immigration take your prints upon entering the country? I have no dna in uk police database. But yes, I suppose I eventually would be identified. I've wanted to jump off the GG bridge for a long time. Although I know they've put barriers in place now.

While I can't speak for the certainty of anything else you mentioned, I've done quite a bit of international plane travel and I've never had my finger prints taken if that's helpful at all. Also, I've been to the GG Bridge many times (it is really gorgeous, especially at night; SF is one of my favorite cities) and as you said there are barriers in place now, so it might be difficult to use it as a method.

If you want to "disappear" (which I think is implied here) I don't think the US is the best country to travel to. There are others, and an UK passport should open many doors for relatively unproblematic visas.

Not necessarily wanting to disappear, just to never come back. I'd want to go down as a Jane doe but it's not hugely important. Also I'd have to do it before a visa ran out or id just get deported

Im sure the UK has your prints. Also they do have your passport pic on file Id guess. idk really. Just all guesses.

The fact that they will identify you isnt a guess. Its just a matter of how.

I don't think Brits need visa for entering the US for lesser than 6 months stay.

American customs and border pigs are harassing and interrogating all sorts of innocent people trying to visit their shithole country lately. Having a visa or not won't matter if they search your phone and think you're a threat to their Nazi leader, they'll refuse you entry either way.

One thought. To get anywhere here outside of the major cities you will need transportation, which means a car or a ride-share, either of which will mean giving your information and potentially being traceable.

I find myself thinking the same. Some part of me doesn't want a burial and maybe I want a bit of adventure before i go.

I could hitch hike my way around, thus giving myself a healthy chance of meeting a serial killer

Well that is possible. But keep in mind we are way more violent/fucked up here than in the UK. Alot of other far worse things might happen to you hitchhiking. It also might be fine . . . but if you don't know what to look out for I would be very, very hesitant. Don't get me wrong, do what you will. Just want to put it out there, it's a very real danger and limitation.

Yes I believe you lot ARE way more fucked up over there. Maybe that's what attracts a freak like me 😞

**EDIT** - ah I think you edited your answer before I saw. Just be careful and realize there are worse things than death.
