Is anyone else wanting to have as many after death preparations sorted out as possible?

I unfortunately have a loving family and a handful of friends which makes the idea of killing myself a lot harder but I really have to do it I can't bear waking up every day. I already have plans of covering my body with a sheet before i die and having a note/ my id left out for the police so my family don't have to see my dead body to identify it (although i'm not sure if that'll work) but has anyone written wills or anything?

I don't really know how to go about official documentation but I'm trying to have as much sorted out as possible to take away some of the resentment people will feel for me killing myself.

Just wondering if anyone else is trying to go through a similar process.

I hope to leave as little mess as possible for those left behind. Will is written with my solicitor. They will be the executor too. I've asked them to arrange for a house clearance service to deal with my mess. I'll want to make sure mobile phone is paid off, tax return is up do date or, the information is available for an accountant to deal with. I'll likely prepay for a direct cremation. My hope is remaining family/ friends won't have to do anything but sit and wait for the meagre inheritance.

But then, I suppose there are still some things they may need to do. The one that bothers me the most is identifying my body. Although, I wonder if they bother with that if you die in your own home.

I haven't thought about those things much because I don't have a job yet, nor do I have any assets or anything like that, but I want to leave behind a suicide note that is as detailed as possible.

I'm kinda the same as you, with my CTB plan I went over a lot of these things too.

What assets do you have? You don't need to have a legal will but maybe just writing a note of what you want done with your belongings after you die (like electronics, clothes, valuables, etc - who you want it given to (and their contact details)). Maybe you could write down your online passwords on a note and leave in your CTB instructions on where to find the note if you wanted your family or trusted people to have access to certain accounts.

You should also stop any subscriptions you have before you die (netflix, etc) - depending on your bank you might even want to schedule an auto payment to a trusted person with your money (or distribute it among people) on a date after your death.

I personally planned to delete all my accounts before my CTB but thats up to you. I was also going to wipe all my hard drives.

I also relate a lot to the part of covering your body, I planned to go deep into the forest for my attempt to make discovering my body as difficult as possible - maybe its something you can consider?

Also register as an organ donor (if that's something you want to do), maybe also leave in your note what you would like done with your body (cremated, burred, etc) - a lot of families struggle with deciding what the right choice is for their child.

Wishing you the best

Cancelling subscriptions is something I hadn't considered but I've added it to my process now, I also know I want to be cremated but completely forgot to add that to my note to my parents.

Thank you so much

I'm doing the same. I was going to create a will since I can do it for free theough my union membership, but I haven't gotten around to it yet. I'm just gonna write what I want done with my things in my note. Deleting accounts I don't want people to see (aka this), registered as an organ donor, going to donate my blood and hair before I go too.

Before I do it, I'm going to call an ambulance and give them a non urgent reason to come to my address. When they arrive, they'll find a note on my door explaining where to find me, and asking them not to bring me to my local hospital (I work there in emergency and I would love to not traumatise my coworkers). I'll have to hope they listen. My work isnt a trauma hospital so if all goes to plan I'll be taken to the ED further away. Or I'll be too far gone and they won't bother.

I have a will AND a living will. There are free forms online (at least in the US). I was able to get them notarized at a library for a few dollars. The living will is important if I don't actually die but instead end up even worse like a vegetable or paralyzed OR someone finds me before I completely stop breathing. I also was able to stipulate DNR (do not resuscitate) as well as stipulate no other medical procedures other than pain relief. You don't need tohave money to make a will useful. There may be sentimental items that you want certain people to have especially if it would comfort them. Also, again, at least in the state I live in, when someone dies with no will, then their "estate" regardless of how meager it may be, goes into 'probate' - basically the courts/legal process that can take a long time and be hard on friends and family.

There are an amazing number of things to take care of when someone dies (I recently found out), so my plan is to list my subscriptions, financial accounts, etc. and I already identified a power of attorney (POA) who has access to the money to pay any bills. I also stipulated to donate my body to science and donate organs if possible.

Lastly, if you have pets! Please indicate some way to protect them! Do not assume whoever finds you will automatically take in your pet(s) and/or know how to care for them even if their intentions are good. In many places any dog or cat goes straight to the animal control. I have also asked good friends to care for my pets if anything happens to me.

I hope that helps.

I'm debating whether I want to send a message to friends or just disappear. I understand the need to prepare for after death. I'm not sure what I'm gonna do about it yet.
