How does that make him a nutter? He's explaining how men have difficulty standing up to crazy women because u can't get violent. At one time before so much state intervention, there was social ostracism to keep people in line, but when the state intervenes you can no longer criticize anybody for behaving bad or irresponsibly.
I was driving around this afternoon and was thinking about how we live in a time and a place where you not allowed to call a spade a spade. You can't say anything negative about anybody or anything anymore that happens to be absolute truth. Especially if your a straight wasp male like I am.

Peterson is very very polarizing. I get my hackles raised because I believe the man is dangerous to young people especially.

Don't take it personally.

And my quip about my former analyst (lunatic) was directed at her, not you.
Thank you, I have only really watched one or two videos of his and don't know anything about him. I can definitely think for myself it's just that I've only seen like 0.001% of him I didn't mean to suggest that I knew enough for my opinion on him specifically to hold weight.

I kind of get suspicious these days with people saying "let's just have a discussion" or "I'm not sure about this thing so let's just give it the benefit of the doubt", especially around controversial/unsavory people like Kermitson here. It's almost always supporters of theirs who are too ashamed to admit they are.
Hey I completely understand that but I'm not some secret supporter of him or anything like that and didn't mean to offend, I just find it hard to get really passionate about anything nowadays.

What does it mean to be a piece of shit?
Basically just never taking responsibility for anything ever. Like my mother has never apologized for the sexual abuse I had to suffer because she decided to marry a pedophile when I was about 10. All I wanted was an apology but she cannot be held accountable. In her mind it's my fault that I was sexually abused by the chomo.

And how many people have you offended by telling the truth about someone or something ? lol All I was trying to say was a lot of truths offend a lot of overly sensitive people nowadays. Especially if you live in America.

What is honesty? :D
I did what I call "truth time" with a couple of people, I told them exactly what I thought of them! People don't want to hear the truth, who does?
My first divorce lawyer said "I'm not going to represent you anymore, you're too honest for your own good"

I need coaching on how to lie.

People will always be offended by something, and yes, many people are more offended by a discomforting honesty than they are by a sugar-coated phoniness (whereas l am quite the opposite), but if you're harking back to a time when people were less 'offended' by overtly offensive behaviours you're probably revising history; people who will have always been offended by such things are often much more empowered to speak up when they're offended rather than feel their demographic status renders them incapable of doing so these days tbh.

I also think America is a poor example to use of free speech being stifled when the USA literally elected an outwardly racist, misogynistic, bigoted piece of bloated motormouth shit as the actual President.

Yeah. Get what you mean. What strikes me is that nowadays sometimes people confuse honesty with cheekiness and disrespect. And on the other side of the spectrum, there are people who don't want to offend anyone, and they directly lie on to your face (which is horrible and condescending), when there's no need. It's just all messed up.

It's very complicated. I remember reading something about swearing, by Zizek. Being cheeky and swearing is necessary sometimes, I guess. Same with being blatantly honest. But it depends on the context. I don't know. Discourse can be used in so many ways to play everything in your advantage...

I was just referring to the overall political atmosphere that exists today in America which is total and complete lunacy with plenty of blame to go around.

America is a screwed up nation from top to bottom. The one word that completely destroyed this nation is "discrimination" It opened the door to where we are today.

As for Trump... His supporters are just as blinded and deceived as Obama supporters were lol

Published by 'Bible Believers Press'.

I can save you all twenty dollars by telling you all, simply from the blurb, that that's reactionary right-wing bullshit. Better value than the PPH though, and possibly more likely to induce death given most of its readers already have their blood pressure going through the roof and are only one traffic jam away from a fatal road rage incident.

LOL, I've been accused of many a term in my life. I've always been grouped in the same category: white college educated male business owner from the Midwest. That's a conservative Republican if I've ever seen one. Then I educate the people doing the labeling. It's true I don't like paying taxes. The truth: I don't like paying taxes to a completely inefficient, wasteful entity that never tells you the truth of how they are actually using the money. If they actually were efficient and truthful, I'd be more than happy to pay to see the people get a benefit from it and actually help those in need.

The only time I've listened to Jordan Peterson was hearing him debate (badly) as a pro-lifer against antinatalist David Benatar. But it sounds like the reason he got famous is for publicly criticising Canada's efforts to stop discrimination based on gender identity. Ugh

I find some of Jordan Peterson's stuff interesting. His talks on psychology, personality, and sociology I find enjoyable. Probably because he is educated and practically experienced in those and is quite apt at explaining things in a sometimes novel thought provoking way. I also found his attempts at self help to actually have some value in some of his essays. But that is simply my personal opinion, we all value different things. Although I am pretty amused when his essay titles are lampooned without reading the essay that supports the context of the title. Pretty misrepresentative really.

I don't much care for his conservatism and somewhat absolutist stances on morality that stems from religion, but those are the tribes he identifies with, so I don't begrudge him that. Diversity of opinion is too valuable to throw away because of dislike. I have my own tribes and I just don't watch it at all. Although when he talks about trans issues, gender, and feminism I feel like I am hearing an open sewer talking. I am also pretty stunned at how little tact he sometimes demonstrates, especially considering his profession. He has attracted somewhat rabid adherents but that happens with any ideology. Some of his videos also include what I consider known pseudosciences, which I have no interest in. No enjoyment to be had there for me.

At the end of the day he is just a human being, smart in some areas, painfully stupid in others. Pretty much like the rest of us.

However, anyone can enjoy the video above :)
