it's late rn but i cant stop thinking about the time i was couch hopping at my friend's for a couple months, and when i tried to open up to her aunt about my suicidal thoughts, she told me if i went through with it i'd be "damned for life" and that i was gonna "go to hell."

anyone who thinks a person is gonna burn in hell for being so depressed to the point they wanna DIE, is a piece of shit and says alot about their views on mental health.

what's sad is that i actually believed it for some time (when i was 11-12), my mom and grandmother were the first people to put that phrase in my head a month after i started cutting and it scared me so bad, but now i'm pushing 20 and i roll my eyes whenever i hear someone say that

I used to have a delusion that I was in hell back then, and sometimes I wonder if I really was mistaken

I dont really blame people who think that because theyve been brought up to believe that most of the time, I feel like theres an extent where free will is cut off with your circumstances and predispositions, but it sure hurts to be on the receiving end, ive been there

well, it is a classical view in the Christian religion that those who commit suicide end up in hell and not all Christians are bad people. she was saying that to try and scare you into not killing yourself. fear is the general motivator for a lot of Christianity. I know because I used to be very devout and those years I lived in fear more than any other time in my life. she probably does too.

im a catholic (but not very religious although I have faith. I was just born in this religion) and I dont think people will go to hell if they suicide (atleast in my imo) its not like them doing it is considered unforgiveable or unrepentable sin. Besides theyre already comitting a sin judging and telling you that since it also says in the bible and only god can judge you.

Know what? They made more mistakes, had darker secrets and the like than anyone.
