Discussion You guys ever dream of dying?

The other day I had a dream where I got diagnosed with a brain tumour, I had a month to live. The dream got progressively more distorted and difficult to understand and time seemed to just fly past nonsensically. I remember that in the confusion of the dream I still had SI, and felt scared about dying, but also relief, cuz I wouldn't have to ctb myself. As the dream tumour grew I understood less and less of what was happening, and big chunks of time just got skipped. Looking back, by the end of my dream I think I was happy, even though I started off scared.

You guys have any dreams about dying? Were they good ones?

All the time. Multiple a night, sometimes. 8/10 they're good, even when I'm not suicidal I find a release in death, even in my dreams. The bad ones are dreams where people I love are encouraging me to die.in a no loving way, but otherwise they're all pleasant dreams.

i dream about dying from sn quite often. i had one last night where i took sn and felt immediately like i was going to throw up. i had someone with me to take care of me and i suddenly felt okay again. he told me to look into a well and tell myself what i wanted to be in my next life. when i died, all i saw was a whirling black like i was thrown into the universe.

I only can remember one dream of that kind, but it was very special. One of the few dreams I will always remember.
It just came to my mind because I was listening to Mad World: "The dreams in which I´m dying are the best I´ve ever had..."
It was one of my most realistic dreams, no weird stuff at all, the enviroment was very detailed, just like the real place.
I was nearby where I live, at some street corner, standing in front a DVD store.
I had a pistol with me and shot myself in the head. I fell to the ground, but no pain at all. I just felt warm blood surrounding my body.
I was laying there, for a while, at some point I asked myself "Why am I still alive?" and I got a bit angry and about that. Then I woke up.

I don't know if I have had such a dream, but it's possible. One thing to keep in mind about death is that living people don't necessarily know what on earth it means. We see people die, we think about dying ourselves, we worry about loved ones passing on. But none of that means that when we dream about it we actually understand it. Death, un-understood, is free to mean all kinds of things for us. And the main thing it can mean for a living thing is not actual ending (which is very difficult, maybe impossible, to comprehend from the standpoint of a living thing) but some kind of change in life. It could be that even serious suicidal ideations are wishes to recreate ourselves. This possibility is completely missed when we censor the very idea of ending ourselves.

I have a few times. Mostly its an accident or violence from someone else. I don't dream of what might be after

I dreamt of dying the other night. I was in an imminent plane crash and there was so much comfort in heading for the end. Within the dream the disaster was averted and I felt so much despair upon waking up.

There was catharsis in finally being done and frustration in it not manifesting.

I've had a fair few dreams about taking SN. It's not that bad, and I don't even panic in the dream-if only it would be like that for real! Other dreams were about having SN and the police trying to take it-guess that was my anxiety coming through haha.

dream of my death all the time either at my own hands or someone else the most vivid one I was stood in a line hands tied and someone came an cut my throat I woke up sweating

not really. If I happen to nearly die while dreaming it's usual by accident or done by someone else.

Yes, recently there was an end of the world, everybody escaped, me too but I wasn't invited to bunker (that's mran my destiny is to die) in the other dream, same day I think I died in the other end of the world

Rarely. My dreams are all related to trauma.

A few times when I was younger, usually involved drowning or falling. I think it was my subconscious wrestling with feelings of being overwhelmed.

Yes, you've hit the nail on the head. Always and every day and every night I think about it and I dream about it. In fact, I constantly dream of different scenarios in which I die, but I always wake up thinking about death and get upset that I'm still in this world. Sometimes I can't even tell the difference between reality and a dream, it feels so weird and it annoys me that I can't get on the bus right now.
