  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

There is no reason for the universe to exist but it does and can also create life which is pretty weird.

It's like the universe is trying to understand itself but I dont understand why would it create things such as pain.

Pain, suffering and survival of the fittest is everywhere in Nature.

Even How Planets and Stars are formed, the procedure is very violent.

If this is how the Universe functions then something is really wrong and there might be other Universes with better functions/laws.

I believe there is a Universe which is 100% perfect.

We are stuck in this flawed Universe and it's scary.

I don't think humans will ever be able to know the true answer to that question.

simply because nothingness is unstable leading to the creation of matter space and time spontaneous emergence of things from the vacuum
we come into existence from nothing and that why we return to be nothing

That theory is valid even tho we can't comprehend "nothing" but what about life, it seems that life becomes more and more randomly complicated.

I also doubt there's a reason. However, pain serves a function. It tells us something is wrong or dangerous. Perhaps nature and evolution experimented with less painful ways of telling creatures they were hurt or in danger but, they ignored them and died as a result.

Diabetics can be at risk of developing foot and leg problems in part because they start to loose sensation in the extremities so, they can injure themselves and not realise it.

Personally, going along with the evolition theory, I feel like the state we find ourselves in- both the good and the 'bad' evolved that way because it was most beneficial to that species survival. The bad effectively needs to be so bad that the creature dies before it can reproduce for those 'bad' elements to be filtered out. Probably the 'bad' we currently have is enough to keep us alive and propogate the species.

I find both anti-natilism and ideation interesting in that context. They are at odds with the prime drives in life. Still, I doubt we'll go extinct with the handful that we are.

We are the result of a failed experiment or an accident. Nothing can convince me otherwise.

Apparently the universe was made for Adam and Eve although when mother ate supposedly we all have to suffer because of it.

Everyone has to find their own reason because we will never all agree on one reason as to why we're here
Some just believe there is no reason or purpose
Personally, I find it impossible that we're here by accident
The conditions on earth are too specifically designed for us to live in, we'll never find a planet like it

The universe has just happened out of nowhere. The eventual flow of time created this situation. Notice the suffering of the gazelles as they are torn apart by a lion.Right. That's just the one gazelle that was caught on camera for your viewing pleasure. There are several going through the same fate every bloody day. What I'm trying to say is we aren't special. Our suffering is not special. Here we are discussing Our suffering amongst others who are also suffering. And we're lucky to be able to do so. That being said, I hope you'll understand the reality.

I agree with everything you have said, I just think it's flawed as I said above, but this universe doesn't care about an opinion.

There are faiths which are called dualistic faiths, and they believe that the universe is a creation from an evil or imperfect deity designed to trap us.

I'm not religious myself, but I do find this concept more believable than other religions. How could a good entity create something with so much suffering?
