I wonder why there are SO SO many celebrity hangings-like loads-from musicians, to models, actors etc etc - not talking conspiracy question here-like ohh so and so was murdered- as even if that was the case for one or two (which I am V. doubtful) what about ALL the others, they have SO much money surely they could easily obtain ANY type of drug-of pure/ high quality that would do the job, so why choose this relatively more violent method that requires so muchto over some bloody SI? Just seems bizarre to me. Every year there is another one-and its ALWAYS hanging

Maybe it's a result of impulsivity more than anything?

And they use other methods. You are only focusing on one.

I always figured it was a mixture of impulse and opportunity. The supplies needed are portable and probably something you have on hand. No special prep required.

A lot of celebrity suicides seem impulsive to me. I don't doubt they were depressed and gave it a lot of thought, but the timing often seems off. Like, they'll be in the middle of a tour or filming something or other commitments. If it was a planned thing, you probably wouldn't do it right in the middle of something like that.

Yeah I guess that is the obvious (and therefore most likely) answear - just seen a few of those you tube compilation things & just seems so strange sometimes- often young, really good looking , money, sucess and/ or emerging career in creative field- I know problems go deeper than that-but they have all that and can do something so brutal and violent to themselves- When I have none of things-really feel I have nothing to stay alive for at all- but can not overcome my bloody SI-think that is why I fixate so much on all those that have done it.
And they use other methods. You are only focusing on one.
Yeah thats true-and lots of accidental deaths to (mainly drug ones) but still LOADS are Hngs

Yeah totally, like it is so strange-as you say-just about to embark on new project -or in mid of something-or having just achieved an accolade- I wonder if there is something in there personality-that gave them the drive and 'braveness' to just go for things- that may have led to their fame- is also the same kind of drive that result in those moments of impulsivity! Find it sort of fasinating- prob as I am struggling with me own SI-wish I could be more impulsive in this case

I always wondered this especially as they have money and easier painless ways of doing it. Can't believe Keith Flint (prodigy) did a charity run, had a Sunday roast at his local then banged himself.

Sometimes I wish I could trade places with them- like they were maybe having a bad day- but ultimately still had something to live for - which I no longer feel for myself

I have been part of a 2 and 1/2 year long thread on Chris Cornell's suicide on another forum. By his own account, and in the opinion of many fans based on his creative body of work, he was chronically depressed. Although the night he passed it is speculated the act was impulsive, him having what amounted to a *kit* ready to go proposes his plan to ctb had always been there. Add that there were, allegedly, family issues with gaslighting, isolation, and possible fraudulent financial dealings, Chris Cornell decided he "can't wait to never be with you again". I honor Chris Cornell for the artist he is and respect the choice he made.

i don't think you know what are you talking about :O being celebrity is most stressful than anything...they are still people and can suffer same way like we "normal" people but they can't go out like normal people, they can't look bad, they can't do anything stupid etc etc...

Yeah that is true- I guess I was just thinking in terms of having a career / creative pursuit that they love- I feel that has always been lacking for me - but yes of course everyone had there own unique struggles / demons- so shouldn't really compare in that way

Nevertheless, I would still prefer popping some N, instead of hanging myself.

What thread was that?
Anvil was another one that surprised me too.

Think about the lack of methods representation in news and media. If there's any at all, it's always violent. For years, I thought I had to wait until I was really desperate, at the absolute end of my wits, to be able to ctb since it seemed to have to involve something so drastic.

It isn't impossible that, although they have the means, many celebrities simply aren't aware of the options either.
