Venting Why is it so hard to get people's attention?

People don't know how fucking valuable it is to be able to take others' attention for granted. To have people look at you in the eyes and to know that they think about you. No one in the world ever gave a fuck about me. When I spiral I have no one or anything to distract me from my boiling brain. What the fuck did I do to deserve this hell. The only thing good about how shit I'm feeling lately is that I finally feel close to ending my pathetic existence.

Unfortunately, I think @theearthisburning has the right of it for the most part. When I really took a look at people who supposedly had great emotional support from friends and family, 9/10 that support either: 1) came with some fat strings attached, 2) evaporated at the slightest sign of trouble, 3) was heavily exaggerated, or 4) some combination thereof.

Most people really do fucking suck. They fuck over their neighbirs, their coworkers, their "friends", their relatives, and even their "loved ones" - no matter how many pages of bloviating, emoji-strewn BS they post to Facebook. Just look at all the people who abandon their spouses when they develop a chronic illness. Look at all the shitty-ass parents out there. How do you fuck up loving a baby?

This is not to say I don't hear where you're coming from. I hate that I haven't found "my people" either. What I guess I'm trying to say is that finding anybody worth a damn is a long shot and not really reflective of your worth.

i wish i knew. whats so special about others, and whats so off putting about me? it cringes me to think how much i destroyed myself and my health just for others not to even give a fuck about me. maybe it's just being cursed… i can't even be proud of any accomplishment anymore because loneliness makes me feel like i should kill myself regardless.
