Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

Why is it so difficult to CTB

Jumping is probably one of the worst pays to CTB in my opinion. Even if death is basically guaranteed after a certain height, that does not mean that it will be instant. There's also no way to ensure that you will land on your head.
There are plenty of better methods like SN or CO. The issue that most people (including myself) have with these methods is that they require you to purchase materials online and have them delivered to your home. This can pose a problem if you don't live alone, as the people you live with might suspect that you intend to CTB if they see you buying coals or having preservatives delivered to your home.
Everything becomes far less complicated when you have your own place. That's my take.

It's the way I plan to go, if and when my time comes. Alone, in the wilderness somewhere. (You need to ensure that you don't get revived and wake up with frostbite, but provided that doesn't happen it is indeed easy and peaceful.)

Obviously it would work at very cold temperatures, but hypothermia can set in at temperatures a degree or two above freezing. If it's raining at that temperature, it can set in surprisingly quickly, especially if there is some wind too. (That's why a lot of unsuspecting people die in the outdoors. They under-estimate the danger from weather that is cold but not very cold.) You don't need to travel to the North Pole.

Yeah, when I was considering it as a method I was planning to get drunk and for a swim, apparently that can kill you in under half an hour if its cold enough.
I still don't think this is a viable method for most people though. If you don't live in Europe, North America or Northern Asia, the night-time temperature just isn't cold enough.

In cold water you can die very quickly. Your strength goes even faster, and you become unable to help yourself. Nearly half a century ago I was in Iceland, and we needed to cross a river. It came straight off an ice cap, and the water was close to freezing point. I went first, with a rope around me for safety as the current was quite fast. I got swept off my feet a few times and got soaked. I thought I was OK and started to make another attempt, but my companions on the bank over-ruled me. They could see that I was in trouble, even though I didn't realize it myself. Then they hauled me out of the river, my strength vanishing rapidly. By the time they got me to the bank I was almost helpless. They put me into a sleeping bag, got the stove out, and made up a hot drink for me. It had taken just a few minutes for me to go from being a healthy,, vigorous young person to someone in real trouble. (Fortunately, the hypothermia hadn't had time to progress very far, and I was back to normal in an hour or so.)

Wow! If it can happen that quickly even when you're dressed for extreme cold (like I imagine you were), then maybe this method has more potential than I thought. I know it was a long time ago, but do you remember how long you were in the water for?
ctb is difficult because that's it. ..., that's it. everything ends. EVERYTHING. no matter how much you philosophize, meditate, or think it it through, ..., it basically amounts to..... THAT"S IT. IT"S OVER. ..., no matter how much you think about it..., the finality of it all is mesmerising. strange. eeerie. out of this world.... hope answered your question. that's why it's so difficult to ctb. ..., it's like..., like..., you know when people die in a plane crash, war,etc....., it's not that way...., it's something else. ..anyway, you only can know it when you decide to ctb without fail.

Ten minutes at the most. Possibly less. Yes, we did have warm clothing, but warm clothing works by trapping bubbles of air. (Air doesn;t conduct heat well.) When that air is displaced by water - which does conduct heat well - the clothing might as well not be there.

Nobody likes getting cold and wet! But apart from that it wasn't bad. I regarded it as useful experience. And because I had good companions, and had roped up because I knew that the river might be difficult, I was never in any great danger.

Suicide certainly is so unnecessarily difficult and complicated in this world, and of course that's why I'm still trapped here. To me, it's just so incredibly cruel how this society is so anti suicide and how we are denied the option of a straightforward and peaceful exit from this world. In fact it disgusts me how people are expected to just suffer against their wishes, existing should be seen as a choice rather than an obligation and all humans deserve the option to pass away in peace. If suicide was easier I would be long gone by this point.
I'm struggling to find methods. I mean this site is great, but I feel lost trying to find what I'm looking for. I'm embarrassed to admit, I tried googling methods, which, was stupid on so many levels. :/

There is also a thread somewhere here that explains what pills you should take for a very peaceful CTB.
However.. I'm finding new ways everyday.. like partial hanging.
I'm looking into every single method I can find to see what the best option is for me. It's very very overwhelming. But in the end it will benefit to do a lot of research before trying to CTB for sure.
