Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

Thanks for pointing that out. I think it also has to due with the type of gun and caliber of bullet. I think there's a mega thread about this. I'm not really a gun person. My region of the US - there are a lot of gun nuts here with an arsenal of guns. I've seen videos and stuff and read their rants. It's just not my thing. If I ever had to CTB and used this method I'd have to do lots of research.
Yeah, I've read the megathread, good info there. Firearm type and caliber play a big part, placement trumps all.

I knew absolutely nothing about guns. It did not take much research for me to feel confident in being able to use one if I bought one!

You just need to know which guns are straightforward to load & use (revolver iirc?), know which caliber (like .38 or higher I think), know which bullets (hollow point), where to aim, and watch some vids on how to use the specific gun / other useful information. Ngl, once you start, it becomes fun to learn more. Because it's such an easy way to CTB.
Does your state not allow private sales?
I never looked into that but my mom can still see my account activity. I should go to the bank and find out if she can only just see the amount I have or if she can also see how much I withdrawal/spend. Spending any of it would be a red flag to her. My parents pay for my essentials at the moment and I never go out and buy anything with my own money.

Previously I had managed to talk her into letting me have $500 of my own money to spend per year, but that won't fly now.

It's fine, I have a new plan, albeit far less convenient

FOR REAL. I live in texas and I went into an academy and had never bought a gun before, and all I had to do was fill out a form and have a 3-day wait period lol.
And yet I live in Oklahoma and have NEVER had to wait more than 15-30 minutes. And I have bought a lot, a LOT of guns -- both from a store (so had to do a 4473) and in private transactions with another gun owner. I have probably a dozen or so -- I know there is one in my purse, 2 or 3 in my bedroom, a couple in my sewing room -- I have no idea how many I have in the safe. Lol

You should have seen my living room after my husband past away last year -- he was an avid -- an AVID lol -- collector. Haha! I swear my best friend and her husband still think they won the lottery because I gave them an entire mini-van FULL of guns, ammo and reloading equipment. I kept my EDC, a couple that have sentimental value and a few that my son will inherit when I die. Everything else was sold on consignment and benefited a youth hunting organization here (I didn't need the money) or was given away to friends who helped me deal with the mess that man left me with.

Mind you, I didn't begrudge him collecting what he loved. I was a little unhappy with the mess (he was a bit of a packrat) he left but ... Hey ... It's cleaned up now so all is well on this front. šŸ¤·šŸ»

But, yeah, it's insanely easy in some states and horribly difficult in others, to get a firearm.
