Maybe jammed isn't the correct word. I think the ammo didn't match the handgun I had, but it was the only magazine and gun I found. My friend who knows about guns was surprised it even did go off. I probably sound like an idiot, because I don't know too much about guns l, but that was the only magazine I knew my dad had and the only gun so I assumed they went together.

Anyway I had a court day coming up and I think was facing a maximum of 2 years in jail (no prior record). The case ended up getting thrown out, but I was so anxious about the whole ordeal that I tried offing myself again with my car and Carbon Monoxide the day before the trial and got put in a psych ward again.

Not many people that know I've attempted know about the gun and the trial.

They're messy and pretty intimidating. Even though I can imagine myself drunk and screaming during the rain while holding the barrel of the shotgun placing my toe on the trigger, I don't think I could unless I was actually in the situation.

Exactly. My father has 40-50 guns, and I have easy access to them. There's an inherent fear in me that something would go wrong. He's a gun nut; I have no experience with guns. I might succeed, but the risk of failure is too great, especially with my limited firearm usage.

I knew a guy who shot himself in the face and lived. Horribly disfigured and many painful surgeries...

When I think of shooting myself in the face, I think of a 100% chance of fatality, but that's not true whatsoever. I've heard of tons of stories like this. I'd hate to have a permanent disfigurement on my face that I see every time I look in the mirror and for everyone else to see, signifying my failed attempt.

you dont shoot in your face! in a bad shot is missing brain stam.
im sure that there is a way to ensure fatal with multiple methods like:
stand on high place in remote place without any help shoot to your mouth
so the badest scenrio you fall and die or die from the shot or no rescued.
its 99%.

i even search for zip guns once.they can be fatal.

I attempted suicide with my revolver. Now I have a hole in my wall that travels from my closet thru my shower, and is logged in the wall of another bedroom......That was after I attempted the exit bag method ,but failed.....I failed! unfortunately.......I was in the military too-female, trying to break that glass ceiling, but I think it broke me...or wait. It twas my Mother (mombie) who started me to break! .....She was like a that rock on the highway, flew up chipping my windshield, which eventually spidered....haha....Anyway I knew a girl in the military who was a closet lesbian ,she shot herself in the head while we were on deployment with her M16. She died.... Maybe she could override SI better because lesbians brains are shaped more like a male's brains ? IDK but i wish i had the balllz......But SN is more attractive to me....I would love the pot of gold N.....SOmeone said Mexico has N?! Wow....how privileged is that! No 40 hour work weeks in some countries! Here I was in my 20's and most of my 30's working like a dog 40+ hours a week in factories, healthcare,military, etc.... and getting brow- beaten by some asshole supervisor every goodamn day, yet being called a lazy american.....nevermind..... Some states are very strict on gun laws and even specific cities require looking up a person's records. If I could acquire a FA and et it over with knowing how to do it correctly, I would do it instantly.

Well, most of suicides in the US ARE from guns so...many do. I think the reason why everyone doesn't do it is two fold. 1. Women rarely use guns to kill themselves, just not their pie I guess. 2. In some of the more populous areas (west coast, northeast US) getting a gun is actually pretty tough. Getting a gun in most of California is damn near impossible.

So I noticed that maybe most members of this forum are Americans. And I was wondering - why don't you just plan suicide by shooting yourselves? There are all these elaborate techniques with SN and whatnot, while you can literally just buy guy everywhere and do it super quick, secure and relatively painless. If I were an American I'd choose that in a heartbeat - unfortunately, being from Eur Union putting hands on a gun is really an impossibility and I have to keep exploring other options. But boy would that be wonderful!

It also gets me thinking - if you're American and claim to want to committ suicide but to do that ponder these complicated failure high-risk options while you have the ideal one just there - maybe you don't really want to die?

Because not everyone can access a gun, that's why. Believe me, if I could get a gun now, we would'nt be having this discussion.

Gun Access in the US varies by STATE

When I lived in Texas many years ago, I could just walk into a store and buy one. Wish I did!

Now I live in New York (specifically New York City). Essentially zero chance of buying one here.

I could derail my career and relocate to a more gun-friendly state. But then, if I weren't able to CTB, I would be trapped in an even worse situation.
