Discussion Why do you choose SN method?

I would like to agree but it's not certain what happens when you are near unconsciousness. No one can respond or make posts at that point?

To me these 16 cases of SN ctb attempt survivors provide incontrovertible evidence that the SN method is painLess: SN failures (16 cases)

There are many threads here about survivors of an SN ctb attempt. They all took SN and eventually became unconscious. But they were found still alive and taken to a hospital and revived with an antidote. They related their experiences here and all the ones that i've seen all said there was no pain and no brain damage. They said they would have been dead if they hadn't been found.

And here i'm quoting this recent post of another SS member @Squilliam survivor of an SN ctb attempt with 30 grams of SN , says that SN is not painful at all :

I found it pleasant to say the least, no pain or discomfort. I'd taken around 100mg of meto, 8 or so antiacids (can't remember the size) the one I took relieves stomach pain also, 2000mg of ibuprofen, 30g of sn, I weigh around 90kgs and wanted to be sure I'd die.

I found that drinking even a small sip of peppermint tea after the sn got rid of the taste immediately, was really helpful but I still had a gag reflex from the taste.
I was just very upset when I woke up in the hospital. Going to be sure next time.

Good luck Ryan. I hope you find peace with your final decision. I've taken SN in the past (was found before death), It took me a while to be ready to drink it, however, I found that listening to a song that means a lot to you, in my case I listened to something that had a beautiful sadness...

So imo the SN method is painLess.

I have read the reports SN is painless and you make a full recovery, I am pro SN but I came across this interesting story below, now it could be the Chinese media distorting the facts to prevent people ctb or they used a pill but it didn't say what dosage they took, however it there in black and white.

Well I am fan of exit bag. It's way more faster (heard it's complicated, why?). Why do you choose SN if u would be consciouss at least few mins and experience typical poisoning effects?

My reasons for choosing SN are similar to what most people have already said, so repeating it would be redundant.

However, one of the main reasons is something pretty different:
My ideal suicide would be in a college party.
Due to the experience that i've had with them, my conclusion is that it's seems ideal.
That's because, well, i won't be home, so no chance of my parents stopping me at all.
Also no chance of them being the ones that find my dead body, me dying will already make them suffer, i don't want to rub salt on the wound.
Well, going back to the party thing, i can also spend my last moments alive enjoying myself with friends, instead of being alone in my room, waiting to die.
Also, i'll probably get drunk, which could help me overcome SI.
After a few hours, i can just go to a bathroom stall, take the SN that i would have on a small package/envelope (probably hidden in my wallet) and mix with water.

Unusual reason for wanting SN, but what can i say, i'm fucked in the head.
I can't think of a single other method that would allow me to go through with this very specific plan of mine, tho if anyone knows of one, i'd be grateful to hear.
It's always nice having more options, especially if people start going after SN or something and it becomes impossible to get.

I don't think youre "fucked in the head" at all. It makes sense that you would want to have a lot of fun with your friends right before you CTB, and you believe that getting drunk can help you overcome SI and that you also don't want to be found by your parents. However, with SN alcohol is highly NOT recommended. There's specific fasting you have to do in preparation for this (8 hrs) and I also think that if you were to drink SN in a bathroom stall at a party, that you would for sure get caught and "saved". If your intention is to CTB, again I'd highly oppose this idea. Not to be a party poopers (pun intended) but thought I'd throw my thoughts out there for ya.

I've read Stan's guide before, so i know that the alcohol can be a problem.
However, not only do i believe it will make it easier to overcome SI, i also get depressed when drunk, which would be useful.
I also know that in a crowded place like a party, the chances of getting saved are higher than if i did it in my room or something.
I already know of my plan's possible holes, but i want to attempt this "Ideal Suicide" of mine at least once, you know?
If the alcohol screws it up, or if i get saved, that's ok, i'll try again in a more traditional and certain way.
Still, before that, i want to at least attempt it once, because if it works, it will be the perfect ending for my life.
Once again, thank you for the advice still, i hope i didn't come of as dismissive of what you've said, it isn't my intention.

SN method with everything costs u like 12€ including the shipping.
I personally find it harder and more expensive to get the items for the exit bag method. U need gas or something, also the Rebreather with soda lime costs like $180 + shipping.
And if you diy the exit bag u have to figure out how to stick it/ fix it around your head.

By what I know there are two exit bags methods one with gas and one where you suffocate yourself. I would be too scared to suffocate.

For me money isn't really problem. I have saved some for that. I just need to be sure to don't spend a money without reason. There are regulators from Max dog brewing and that's what I would aim 4. I just read that it's hard to connect anything together...

Oh ok, yeah I think money is a problem for a lot of people on here thats why SN or hanging is more likely to be their first choice.
