I'm not sure if the reason is the same as with recipes, but not all measuring spoons are the same, so weighing is the most accurate measurement.

it doesnt all come looking the same so you want to make sure you have accurate mass over accurate volume due to the structure of the sn crystals not being identical

The same reason why most recipes that require precise measurements don't call for teaspoon and cups measurements. A lot of factors including the way you scoop it out would affect how much is scooped out with your tablespoon. Different materials and different texture or compactness would fit in your tablespoon differently. Giving different results each time. Whereas a scale would always give the same reading and true weight no matter what.

You can't really wing the right quantity of SN. Too little will not be fully effective, too much will make you puke all over the place. Tablespoons are not precise enough. You're theoretically making a poison mixture, not a soup.

Better to use a scale for accurate measure

You can but like the others said it's more accurate with a scale and because it depends on your bodyweight how much you need to take. If you for example need 1.2 or 0.8. it's kinda hard to get the numbers right.

The picture is from Vizzys guide btw
