Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

recently there has been a new bbc news article about this site. Basically a 17 year old boy drank bleach because someone on here told him to.
Of course telling someone to drink bleach isn't okay. (In the context of it not being a source of information)
However you don't find forums like this one on accident. My question is why can't people accept that suicidal people seek out suicide content? Or why can't parents accept their child committed suicide because they wanted to die?
There has been other articles on the bbc about things similar, including a teenage girl who saw "pro suicide" content and then decided to commit suicide.
I just don't understand why people can't accept suicide as an answer.
I have seen more outrage by the British public and media about this place than about the man who made his girlfriend? End her life because of all the abuse she endured at the hands of him.
I guess what I'm trying to say is we all have free willl. We (human beings with the mental capacity) understand what can end our lives and we make the conscious decision to do it or not. We all have a choice. Live or die? The choice is yours.
I'm sorry if that doesn't make sense or comes across with a lack of empathy.

If not here, where are we to go to support each other in this community? No one cares to listen. One is always alone in one's head.

These people don't believe in anything other than money, that's why they make these hit pieces again and again. Or if you're referring to the people who read them, their entire world view and existence relies on the erroneous idea that life is wonderful, of course it's not for everyone and that mindset causes an extreme aversion to change.

Though suicide is actually rare. And also. Suicidal ideation. 2-3 million Americans of over 300 millions have suicidal ideation and desire to do that.
Suicide is still perceived in society as a danger to the survival of the society and it's system. Especially there is an anxiety of it rising to high numbers and percentage of the population. Like an epidemic.
Also people suiciding can motivate and inspire other to do that, who's survival instincts/shame induced by culture/ society stopped them

I think that because they haven't been where we have, they are unable to comprehend that for some of us it is the only answer. I don't believe that people can understand the concept of suicide if they haven't had some form of mental breakdown, illness or reason to want to die because of there being no alternative. Just like we are likeminded people, they are also likeminded in that the idea is too foreign. Their narrow-mindedness in a sense, can also become judgemental I think, especially when maybe triggered by grief over the loss of a someone. If they cannot understand, they may blame and judge. And as @martinso67 says, we are the minority.

If only they could wear our shoes for a week, then maybe they would understand. But until then, we are fighting a losing battle.

Some of us just don't want to go through that mental and/or physical hell of being alive. They could never comprehend that though.

i'm actually sooo tired of my friends and family treating me like i have no mental capacity, like i'm insane, like i couldn't just rationally decide to die, like me being suicidal is something that must be punished and silenced. i get that knowing your friend/sister/daughter might ctb is scary and uncomfortable but why not make the effort to try and understand her instead of suffocating everyone and everything that doesn't match your little world of lies ??
