Why are people so selfish?

Why do people think that suicide is such a selfish thing? I can't understand. Why don't they understand that they're the ones who are actually selfish with forcing everyone to stay alive so they can keep living as a stupid 9-5 worker until retirement!? I don't want this disgusting life even if I could have fun and be "happy", is this so hard to understand? And I'm going to be honest here, even if I was born in ancient times, I still wouldn't wanna live. Because this life is not worth all this suffering. Besides, I don't understand the people crying at funerals. It's actually a gift, a reward, a BLESSING for the deceased, I think.

I understand, I also just wish to not exist as well, I'm always so tired of suffering in this existence, I only hope to never exist again, existing for me will always be completely undesirable, I'd never wish to suffer in this existence and I never would have chose to exist.

Sound like my "friends", have the very basic understanding of psychology, everything is black or white for them, calling someone "crazy" just shows lack of basic psychology and lack of sympathy

I do know a few people who think ctb is selfish (co workers or older people). My friend group and partner do not think that. I guess it depends on how much you really know about suicide and how willing you are to educate yourself and most people don't. Truth is - nobody owes anyone to live. But for you last statement, I m sure my friends and partner will cry at my funeral for the same reason I would. Because of emotions and the loss of beloved person. In the end, grief is part of human life.

Fck 'em. I'm gonna do whatever I need to do to stop the suffering. I'll be to dead to care about who I've saddened anyways. Time will eventually heal and hopefully my survivors will realize I'm eternally blessed. I just need permanent at sleep at any cost.

I never know who to side with. Some pro-life folks don't want you to die because they speak from experience, for example they could have been on the verge of CBT but suddenly turned the corner, then looking back at these dark times they realized that if they'd decided to end their suffering back then they wouldn't have been able to see themselve get better. So they basically want to prevent others from being robbed of this possibility of having one's life get better. On the other hand, many such people fail to realize that some individuals are not as lucky and can't have such life changing choices. In the end, nobody knows the future. Nobody knows exactly what the other one goes through. One's sympathy means ignorance to you, and that ignorance is perceived as stupidity to the other. The mind is so, so fragile. That's why I want to become a psychiatrist, even if it sounds bad to you. I want to learn all about the human mind, even if carrying the burden of determinism totally ruins my mental health.

I believe death is a blessing to. Its the end of suffering even if its non existence after or an afterlife either is the end of suffering. People think its selfish cause it makes them sad and its more about their emotions and they assume you'll miss out on the joys in life not realizing that for some people suffering far out ways the joy in life
