Story Why am I so unlucky?

I think two days ago I wrote a post about wanting to jump off a building in a lost place.
When I got there, there were like two police cars, and they were arresting people or something for going inside the lost place.
You can't make this stuff up, can you? I've never seen people go in and out with the police and ruin my plan.

I knew of a plot of land I planned to die in, very secluded, been there a Lot of times, never seen anyone. Planned to bury myself behind a low leafy tree very close to a dirt wall.
So I get there one night to start the prepping and digging. And right there a couple making out. Plan out the window. Hope they had a great night.

Personally, I don't buy into the "universe telling us things" theory. I'd just chalk it up to happenstance.

If my water heater goes out at the time I need to take a shower to get ready for work, is that a sign from the universe that I shouldn't be taking a shower at that time? Or, I go outside to drive to work only to discover I have a flat tire, so I shouldn't be driving then? I don't think so. Things just happen. Sometimes at inconvenient times.
