I started smoking as a teenager and been doing it for 12+ years, funny enough I never really been much of a fan of them. when I feel good with life and not depressed I usually smoke much less because I feel more health conscious, I'v even quit a couple times over the years but always go back to smoking because of stress. but when I feel suicidal and depressed I just don't care about my heath and I end up smoking a lot more.

The public health authorities never mention the main reason many Americans have for smoking heavily, which is that smoking is a fairly sure, fairly honorable form of suicide - Kurt Vonnegut

Smoked for a few years. Never a heavy habit - usually a few cigarettes throughout the day then i'd smoke quite a bit on weekend and other nights when drinking. Don't smoke now. I understand why people choose to smoke from my own experience : calms stress, gives a bit of energy, relaxing before bed, pleasant when enjoyed with alcohol & in social settings.
