I don't consume US news that frequently. I have the feeling though leftwing independent journalists/influencers have better content than rightwing independent journalists/influencers. In Germany both of them suck. At least the outlets I know.

In the German speaking region I think right-wing mainstream media have more high quality articles. I am not necessarily saying they are overall more correct on issues or in relative terms bring out more true stories. My favorite newspaper is the NZZ. I am so glad I am able to bypass the paywall because I would find it unethical to support them with my money for spreading hatred and agitation against minorities. They would literally punch down on people like me. On the Israel Palestine conflict they only spread propaganda. There are a few German outlets that report the truth from time to time. But not very often. The op-ed letters of this newspaper are however the best quality articles you find in mainstream press. I am not sure whether the op-eds in English only refer to articles with heavy opinion. But "Gastkommentare" in this newspaper are writen by experts. And many times the "Gastkommentare" are countering the mainstream narratives of this newspaper and are more leftleaning that the rest of the newspaper. Though, the information is more neutral there is a stronger emphasis on empirical evidence and you gain more in-depth knowledge about a story. I really appreciate the reporting on foreign affairs. But this newspaper also spreads a lot of propaganda and you have differentiate between them. There was even pro ICE propaganda recently.

I have the feeling leftwing independent journlism in my country is more done by people with lower reputational assets. They are not as educated and some articles you read in Der Freitag have really poor quality.

My favoirite outlet overall are Die Blätter though. It a leftwing oriented journal and I think they report more often about the truth with inside knowledge than other outlets. The quality of aricles are way higher than in the NZZ and they are often much longer. But the NZZ is good for contrarian takes

The NZZ sometimes translates articles from Unherd and sometimes Foreign Affairs. The concept of the NZZ is similar to Unherd but Unherd has more Trump and Russia friendly reporting.

Die Blätter for US reporting often translate articles from The Atlantic or Foreign Affairs. But not for economical coverage. Most German outlets only have liberal takes on US politics when it comes to democracy. Liberal in the way it is used in the US. But economically we are way more leftleaning than any mainstream US outlets.

And that's the whole problem. There shouldn't be "left-wing" and "right-wing" content, because what the hell does that even mean?
It's a bubble for both groups of people who want to feel safe and don't want to confront different views.
The world isn't binary, and you don't have to choose just 1 and 0.
There are many nuances, and focusing on such a nefarious division as "left" and "right" is a fundamental mistake that only helps politicians who want to divide society.

Of course, I'm not attacking you directly, just speaking generally. I'm simply irritated by this senseless ideological war in which every participant loses except those at the very top.
