I know this is sort of a bait thread title. And the answer is for all reasonable people obviously not.

However, hear me out...in the modern age many topics are not any more taboos. The society becomes in many instances more permissive. I know there is a reactionary countermovement. But that's not really true for the media landscape. In Germany the biggest newspaper is yellow press the Bild-Zeitung. They are incorporated in the Axel Springer AG. The company that bought Politico. And enforces a strictly pro-Israel stance on their staff members. Also in the US from what I have heard. The most powerful guy of that newspaper was chief editor Julian Reichelt. Though. something came out about him. He slept with countless of female staff members below him. His motto seemingly was "Vögeln, feuern, fördern." Hard to translate but more or less: "Fucking women, fire them and promote them." Actually, I think this is not in the accurate temporal order. The Springer AG fired him eventually. And interestingly they said if the Springer AG didn't want to extend to the US market he might would have survived that affaire. They said for the US market a scandal like that is very counterproductive. In Germany sexual affairs at the workplace are less stigmatized. But I am not sure whether he actually survived that at the Bild Zeitung. Why do I tell you all of that? After he was fired he started an own online news outlet. It is called NIUS sponsored by a right-wing millionaire. Honestly, I read the Bild-Zeitung because it is the most influential newspaper in my country. The quality is often trash. However, sometimes they have exclusive information. And you get a glimpse of what is going on in the average German. Honestly, I cannot read NIUS. I looked at the website. And this news outlet is a complete disaster. The ads are very intrusive, there is AI content in articles (fake quotes for example), it is pure propaganda in favor of the right-wing extremists. They call it the German Fox News. And it is gaining power.

In Germany there was a consensus among the elites. No power for a party that is more right-wing than the conservative party. And for a long time this held. But the AfD came up, radicalizes further and further and despite that the social acceptance is on the rise. Taboos that were considered untouchable are now changing. I notice this introduction might be weird considering the title of the thread. But hold on here comes the juicy stuff.

In the age of the internet transparency was one goal. At the same time there is a flood of mis- and disinformation. I think there is a consensus in my country when it comes to reporting. And to a lesser extent this is also true in Angloamerican countries. The media isn't reporting on indiscrete sexual details. There is deep fake porn out there from the highest politicians in my country. I don't watch it but I can only imagine it to be as traumatizing as watching the most horrible war crimes.

You know the political elite is very broad. There are a lot of fetishes. Actually, one could compromise them with such stuff. There were not that many Germans in the Epstein files. and I am not actually referring to pedophilia. There is a lot of stuff that would ruin the reputation of politicians. And politicians also have a sex life. They tried to blackmail Magyar in Hungary with a sex tape seemingly. He went into the offensive and eventually it wasn't released. One thing is Russia or the CIA could use such information to compromise politicians. And it doesn't have to be illegal. It just could be weird and cringe as fuck. And in some way I don't know why this isn't done more often. At least where I live I never heard such blackmail stories. In case the media would find out about weird kinks of politicians they would never publish such article. There is a consensus among them. Though, in increasingly polarized societies will such taboos fall eventually? In Germany the capital is very politicial. One calls it the Berline bubble. Sometimes you hear in the media that there are speculations that some conservative politicians might be homosexual. But the mainstream press only reports it when it is already known to a mass audience. Moreover, something which sounds weird but this theory is far from unlikely. I could imagine the US and Russian intelligence services have real nude pictures from many many powerful people on this planet. It is so easy to bug a toilet and put a microcamera into a bath. Politicians visit each other in foreign countries. Of course they would never publish such stuff on official channels. And if one country starts with doing that others could follow. There probably is a military doctrine for that like MAD (Mutual assured destruction) just for compromising material of powerful politicians in different countries. (in some way that's a joke on the other hand not fully). The fight would be dirty and could traumatize generations when looking at the average German politician. Another example. I am pretty sure German politicians watch porn too. I am pretty sure they were drunk as teenager and did a lot of stuff that they regret now. They were bullies at school. Did Nazi jokes as teenagers really not uncommon in Germany. And the media outlets don't publish such stories.

I start rambling but I think you understand my point. There was a local German politician that went viral some years. He was from the FPD. He wasn't known to the public prior to going viral worldwide. There were videos where he licked public toilets, made himself a HItler moustache out of shit and he made the Nazi salute or something like that. I think most of the stuff is even censored on X. Which says a lot. I was so proud to be a German when this story dropped. By the way the FDP sucks ass. It is such a shitty party. It is a party for mostly libertarians.
