so since trump won , social media have got a lot more toxic than before. and people (if u dont agree at something even if its very minor) are very comfortable saying things like "kill yourself" "jump off" etc
anyways I had a comment lately that said " blow ur head off" and it unironically pissed me off some much it made me actually think bout giving life a chance just out of pure spite .
my question is , how would such a comment make u guys feel. how should it make me feel

It shows the western world is becoming colder and more adversarial. We are being pitched against each other by our so-called "leaders" media and algorithms. Ideology is overtaking intelligence. Competition is replacing kindness.

In terms of how to feel about it? Worried I guess… because it can get worse if people don't wake up.

I think it highlights how tribalized discourse has become and how comfortable people are with demonizing any dissenting opinions from what they would consider right. I guess it's a very worrying trend and just sows division even further which just feeds this toxic cycle.

since trump won when? in 2016 or recently? i feel like i remember ppl having this behavior online since i was a kid. like 2013. it did get worse around 2016.

my question is , how would such a comment make u guys feel. how should it make me feel

ppl on the internet like that are irrelevant. if someone spends their time getting into internet arguments with strangers and uses language like that i find it embarrassing and not to be taken seriously at all. i say dont let it get u.

I had a comment of a similar nature on my social media last year and I was so shocked. I still think about it from time to time and it still just shocks me because I would never speak to someone that way.

Ye i used to be desensitized too. But lately since i started planning my ctb , it kinda hit hard.
Also ye the wanting to live out of spite thing lasted few hours now im back to my old self

It's actually insane how mean people are on social media nowadays. A 5 year old gets kidnapped by ICE and they blame him and call him a "criminal." A nurse is murdered by ICE, they blame him too. Palestinian men, women and children are routinely raped and slaughtered en masse and they laugh. It's not uniquely the right who seems to be doing this though, speaking as someone more left leaning I see some left leaning people act this way too (for example, I didn't agree with Charlie Kirk but he didn't deserve to be murdered, and yet I see people celebrating and mocking his death, same with the Catholic school shooting last summer because "Christian bad.") Seems common decency is becoming far less common nowadays.

The world is in a horrible state and it's only getting worse. Social media and "real" news are so bad I honestly don't know what to believe anymore. People in general are shockingly inhumane and I keep on thinking how lucky we are just to meet "normal and nice" people. However, I think cruel people are just cruel, inconsiderate, and they don't even realise what they say. Most don't have a clue what it is to be suicidal, for if they did, they wouldn't make such comments.
