• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Our public expense ledger is now live, allowing anyone to see how donations are used to support the ongoing operation of the site.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

Will I just be left to try again?

Will I be taken away and thrown into a mental asylum like Broadmoor?

Or something else?

depends on how serious the attempt was, if it was life threatening they will section you under the mental health act, you'll be kidnap taken to a mental health unit and be forced imprisoned and forced drugged and have no privacy

if you say you have a plan to end your life they will section you, you'll be carted away in a police van

on the other hand if they decide your attempt wasn't serious you will be referred to the community mental health team

i took a paracetamol overdose once before and nothing ever came of it

Well it definitely won't be Broadmoor, that's a forensic unit for violent criminals with mental illnesses.

More likely you'll be taken to a&e for any treatment you require. Depending on the severity of your attempt and whether or not you have a history of mental illness, attempts or involvement with mental health services, you'll be assessed, speak with psych liaison either discharged home or given a mental health act assessment. There are ways to talk your way out of hospitalisation if that's what they're leaning towards and there is a thread on here somewhere that provides info on that topic. Given the crippling pressure the NHS mental health service is under, unless your attempt is very serious or you have a rich history of attempts and are at high risk, you'll probably be discharged home and be referred to CMHT or the home treatment team or if you manage to say the right things, be discharged home with little more than a report sent to your GP.

In my case nothing happened. You might be offered counselling but I wouldn't worry about being locked up or anything like that
