• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Our public expense ledger is now live, allowing anyone to see how donations are used to support the ongoing operation of the site.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

Wanted to ask since I'm curious to know what people think is going to happen after they're gone. If they're scared of going, etc. I'm kinda scared since I think consciousness can't really be extinguished because of law of conservation. Nothing is created nothing is destroyed all that. So after a very long span of time (or a subjective instant) a new consciousness is born without any memories, form or knowledge of the previous one. I know that nothing can happen after the heat death of the universe, but still infinite time means infinite possibilities so I don't know. So I feel that it's just life -> death -> repeat. And nothing is carried from the past so everything is for nothing. What do you guys think?

I can't be sure, but i assume it's like when you sleep/blackout without dreams and without the waking up part.

I've thought much along those lines. But we just don't know. Our consciousness seems to have emerged from nothing. Is it a unique one time experience or part of an abundant resource? With a subjective sample size of one we can't know. If it was an infinite resource that would be both heaven and hell.

We may be in a state of forever pain, though I hope not.

I already stated this several times when others asked because this is one of the only things I think about and research, but I slightly lean towards a continuation of consciousness. What does that look like? I don't know. Possibly reincarnation (although I often hope not). Eternity is hard to imagine though and sounds exhausting.

Don't listen to the philosophers who cite "physics".
They're full of shit. Literally not a single one knows jack shit about physics. I promise you. They're borrowing from other fields because on their own their ideas have no merit. Actual physicists spend their time doing math and observing veritable reality.

What happens to our consciousness after we die is an unknown. We can't observe it. There's theories but that's it. If you want to die you have to be okay with not knowing.

either nothing or quantum immortality, which is fucking terrifying if you look it up.

Nothing... Just like 1 year before you were born, you were nothing. After you die, you will return to being nothing.
