I've heard people say that it's just like what it was before we were born, and therefore non-existence. I have no idea though, and I won't believe in any theories either.

The reality is you've never experienced it so you have no idea if it's true or not. Lol

I came from quite a spiritual background- all your dead relatives are holding hands in heaven type thing.

Personally, now I have a feeling that everything that we know to be us- our consciousness, our memories, our sense of self is created by our brains. So- when they die, we die too.

That said- there's still so many mysteries to life- so- who really knows? Nothing as yet can be proven- so we all have just as much right to believe what we believe. Reincarnation personally kind of horrifies me but if it brings you comfort- great.

Of course I just believe that we cease to exist and that is it for us, we are gone and we won't even have awareness of the fact that we are dead. It will just be like how before we were born where time passed and we weren't aware of anything.

To me any afterlife is just a fictional concept invented by people who were unable to come to terms with the true meaningless and insignificant nature of existence, where we only exist as an unfortunate consequence of evolution and we are just destined to die and inevitably be forgotten about. The thought of non existence is the only thing that could ever be close to comforting to me, I view it as being perfection having the inability to suffer in any way and of course true peace could only ever exist in the absence of everything.

i just think we don't exist anymore, i've never believed in an afterlife (and i don't want there to be one either tbh, living forever sounds awful). i mean, i don't remember how it felt before i was born, so i think that's how it is when we die

If we're alive now there will probably be another conscious being experienced after we die. Whether that be as another human, animal or alien no one knows

nothing, we wont have any conscience, and we probably wont exist at all, what that would be like? i dont really know, but i feel like AFTER you die, nothing will happen to you at all, and you cant do anything at all or feel anything at all

The idea that nothing happens is just preposterous to me. Yeah you probably don't retain memories of this current self, but you most likely don't like your current self anyways. Definitely some kind of merging into the consciousness of god takes place.

I'm not sure what happens. I'm kind of okay with anything but hell. The idea of going to hell is part of what keeps me from CTB. I'd be okay with anything else though.

I'm convinced of some sort of hell, I attempted hanging almost a decade ago and I experienced a mix of seeing my life or at least parts of my childhood, and then a strong sensation of being drowned by having my face forced into a puddle of water and being unable to get up from it. I got terrified then and it still scares me to think that might be waiting when I go.
