I've played a few Lightgun games over the years, my favourite was always Point Blank. I had it on the PS1 as a kid, but playing the arcade version was the best and I was fortunate enough to have a Point Blank arcade cabinet at a local shop back then I used to play on. Sadly they removed it many years ago. I miss it a lot...
Point Blank is one of the greatest party games ever! I wish they brought it back but sadly Lightguns more or less died when CRT displays became obsolete (Unless you're willing to shell out some money for one of those fancy modern ones.)

I didn't have a Lightgun but I played with the joystick and still had fun! I imagine how addicted I would be if I had an actual lightgun!
That World of Longplays YouTube channel is incredible. It's immense just how many recorded playthroughs of games there are available to watch on that channel. Thousands of them, all collected into one huge digital library.
Longplays and TASes are among my favorites. They're a great way to experience games without playing them! I watch a channel called "ultimate player" which does TASes of fighting games, as well as some other genres. Here's a sample:

Speedrun it now. Or at least try doing some speedrun tricks. People that love the game so much that they finish it multiple times go to speedrunning as a natural extension.

I finished Mafia 2 a few weeks ago. I really enjoyed the game; the setting, the dynamic between Joe and Vito, and how surprisingly funny the game was in places. The ending felt really rushed though. Apparently, a lot had to be cut out due to deadlines.

I started playing Mafia DE afterwards, but it doesn't have the same vibe as Mafia 2. I'm still early in the game, so maybe it'll change. What both games have in common, however, is that they are incredibly buggy. I haven't played games this buggy in a long time. At one point, I had to push Joe halfway through the map to trigger the story. And Mafia DE locks up my PC with a black screen when in full-screen mode.

I started this series for the first time a few weeks ago and it's been my current obsession. I fell out of gaming for a couple of months and now this has totally gotten me back into it.

I recently just finished The Old Country; it has an amazing story, but the ending was kind of a mess
:( it's something I would probably recommend just watching on youtube.

Just started Mafia 3 a few days ago, though I'm not really sure how I'll like it. Mainly just playing it for Vito right now but we'll see how it goes.

I also bought Cronos: The New Dawn today, which is insane considering I have a really hard time playing horror games lmao. Horror is literally my favorite genre (I even have a few slashers tattooed) but I just can't do the games…on top of that, this one is really goddamn hard.

Beating this would be a huge accomplishment for me, but god, it's going to be a journey.

There's nothing like a good horror to scare you enough to make you feel like you don't really want to die lol.

Just started Hollow Knight. It is not my type of game. I am not a fan of tough platforming and punishing mechanics but I can not stop playing it. The visuals are amazing and the soundtrack is very nice.

Funny you say that, I also started a MetroidVania: Bloodstained ROTN. Very good and VERY expansive and probably more your cup of tea since it's much more forgiving (And allows you to grind if you must.)

I'm playing Milky Way Idle and looking for other ways to occupy my time. I've tried Path of Exile recently but concluded that it wasn't my thing. If anyone has any free game recommendations please let me know!

I backed it on Kickstarter and played it day one. Very fun. Do need to play all of the extras that have been released since though.

People will probably think I'm a weirdo, but the original Kingdom Come Deliverance was incredible. Never felt so connected to a video game world before.
But being first person, I feel that it contributed to my feelings of dissociation, so I stopped playing. I also got incredibly addicted, trying to do every single quest and max out my stats.
Not playing anything now. Which is a shame because video games were one of the few joys of my life.

I've been doing a playthrough of Pokemon Moon lately. It's been good to feel nostalgia again, it's been too long. Trying to keep up the energy to nickname everything I catch rather than giving up one party in, haha

Guys, I have played almost 40 hours of Hollow Knight in the last week. I love this game! I have laughed, I have cried. I am obsessed. I already can not wait to play Silk Song.

Not finished with the game yet but apparently there ate multiple endings? Going to have to play multiple times I guess. 😄

lately, tonsssss of vrising and harvest moon: the tale of two towns.
vrising lets me live out my chuuni dreams of being a vampire princess. i mean, i already am one, of course. multiplayer is extra fun because i can be a dictator since i host the game when we play.
TToTT is very fun and cute, relaxing and i rambled about it in the replies of someone else's post recently. i'm enjoying it a lot too. i have to play as a boy though because i am more interested in the bachelorettes than the bachelors. although i do think the male protag also just looks like a tomboy...
however, my wrists are bad so i shouldn't be playing (or typing) anything right now until they have rested for a while. but i obviously don't listen to my body while it's in pain, because here i am, typing away.

Well I have 100%ed playing Silksong so now I am depressed again (unless I decided to do the speedrun and steal soul achievements) cus I don't have my way to cope with life currently no more :<

Anyways it very fun game. I would say is flawed in some ways compared to original (minor spoilers) like to me with some of the early game bosses (why does the 2nd boss of the game deal double damage on every attack? ON THE SECOND BOSS OF THE GAME), just the overall quest system existing making you have to backtrack more and locks content of somethings when those things could of been just there on the first go around of the area, less creativity I think with the tool system compared to the charm system with how limiting it is (feel like there should of been another colour category so some tools don't feel overshadowed some other ones) and with you can only equip one silk skill at a time so less variety in spells (tho spells are complimented by attacking tools but wish we could to use a variety in both at same time) but otherwise still very fun game :P

At least I can watch my favorite streamer play the game now:
