Help What are the odds of this succeeding, please?

Hi,

I've never attempted suicide, but I'm thinking of OD'ing on pills and I'd like to consult the likelihood of success by using this method.

Basically, what I've got is:

-30 Trazodone antidepressant pills
-about 120 sleeping pills
-a bottle (or several, if that'd help...) bottles of whiskey
-live alone so no chance of anybody walking in on me/finding me/checking up on me for at least several days
-little chance of acquiring anti-vomiting pills (which I understand would potentially be of great help).

I'm thinking of this as a "why not try it and see what happens?" sort of method.

I am aware that the toxicity of antidepressants nowadays is pretty low.

What are the possible consequences of trying this method, please?

What role might choking on own vomit (apologies for the gross details...) while unconscious play in this process?

Basically, yeah, any and all info you could throw at me is greatly appreciated.

I am also aware that you can fail with practically any suicide method.

You will need anti sickness tablets to work, can't you ask for a prescription? I have a stash because I say to my doctor that I get really sick with migraines

That much traz can give you priapism but that's just hard luck if it does.

What I certainly can do is see a doctor and ask for some, but at that point, it's up to them. I'm worried about arousing suspicion due to being unable to convincigly explain to them what I need it for.

Zolpidem pills. My understanding is that they're most commonly sold under the brand name Ambien, but that's not what mine are called.

For what it's worth, Wikipedia says that on overdose of Zolpidem can lead to coma or death.

I get migraines that make me sick, tablets help. I take cyclizine hydrochloride but you can also get the m.. something. Symptoms for me are aura, can't see properly. Tingly arms and hands, then sickness starts, sweating them the pain. My dr knows I can get suicidal thoughts but I always get my prescription, migraines are debilitating for me

I think you will probably wake up in 12- 16 hours.
I also had hope that at the very least I would just choke on my own vomit during my OD .... but nope.
You want to save up a lot of pills. Took me three months to collect mine. So while it sucks to wait ... it will give you a better chance of success.

OD'ing on pills is rarely successful, especially if you don't have access to anti-emetics.
If you haven't got much resources you could look into SN or CO poisoning alternatively

Don't do this. ODing on pills rarely works. You will wake up in an ICU and end up admitted to psych ward

The various things I've read about overdosing on anti-depressants or anti-psychotics don't sound hopeful for suicide. They're designed to have low toxicity. I don't know about your sleeping pills, but if I were to try sleeping pills, I might try 100+ Unisom pills:

It's true that there's a risk of failure in every method, but there's the probability factor. I think what a lot of people are here for is increasing the probability that their attempt will succeed. Lost All Hope reports that only about 2.5% of reported overdoses succeed, which I think makes it the method with the lowest probability:
