i did a partial hanging test, found the sweet spot i need to aim for when the time actually comes. everything i've read is correct, it only takes a few seconds before you feel like you are going to pass out.

i'm blown away at how easy it's going to be, i think i've been too caught up in the logistics of planning everything else to even consider that the actual method might be the easy part. it's oddly comforting.

it wasn't my first choice, but i couldn't find a way to get H and trying to get a gun in my state is a long process + not even guaranteed given my mental health history. i wasn't feeling very good about it, but the test did ease some of my anxieties about failure.

Im also jealous. I hope I can find my sweet spot if the other methods I attempt fail. Any tips? Ligature type and size?

i used a wallet chain for my test, i wanted something with more weight to it because i was only testing by pulling it tight with my hands, not actually trying any sort of suspension. for my actual attempt i will be using a necktie.

everyone's anatomy might be slightly different, but for me i placed the ligature as high up on my neck as i could, right under my chin. it did not take a lot of pressure to achieve the "blood choke" effect, you'll know it before having to get to the point of tunnel vision and potentially passing out.

Necktie is gonna be quite different though. Did you tie a knot at the back of your neck or the front? The ligature strangulation megathread suggests the front, but I didn't have much luck with that. I wonder if there's a way to get the pressure concentrated on the sides of the neck in a kind of triangle shape, like an actual blood choke.

I didn't have luck finding the right spot when I had the knot in the front, I'm not really sure why that's the suggested method.

I do wonder if combining the night night method with strangulation might help with getting the pressure concentrated? like, putting some sort of padding on the sides of the neck, then applying ligature around them?

I'm going to try complete full suspension + night-night. I think it's more effective because the rope alone produces a uniform force, and by adding a specific type of pressure to the carotid arteries (as night-night does), the time of unconsciousness is drastically reduced.

So did you tie one at the back, or did you go knotless for the test?

Yep, some sort of improvised night night method sounds like a good idea, don't necessarily need to have the cornhole bags. I also wonder if it would work if I did partial and manually applied pressure on the carotids with my hands at the same time, but I wouldn't be able to sustain the manual pressure after blacking out.

knotless, just adjusted placement and pulled back/up behind my head to find the spot i was looking for- didn't want to end up with any marks or bruising that would raise suspicion.

i definitely wouldn't count on using your hands for pressure since you're right, that would become useless once you pass out. i think what you could do though, is once you have something in place of cornhole bags, you could use your hands to check placement before applying the ligature.
