I understand the feeling of frustration, but please remember that meeting hate with hate isn't (in my view) the answer.
Few things are more disarming than showing love and goodwill to an "attacker".
Not that it's a "game" to try to "win", anyhow....

If we are willing to speak with greater respect to those who question us, then it may be easier for those people to understand.
And if not, well then that is their loss or limitation.

If we are serious and genuine about entering into an intelligent dialogue then that can only take place in an atmosphere of mutual respect.
And if the respect is not mutual, then let that not come from our side....

There's no need for us to lose our cool, or allow ourselves to lower our standards.
e.g. In general, if someone wishes to insult me, they won't get an insult back.
I may question them or state what I feel to be true about the situation, but I won't lower myself or my intellect.
Taking the higher ground is the answer (IMO).
Plus allowing anger within yourself is damaging to you, and does not serve you....

Sorry to give a "lecture", just want to convey what I think are some important considerations to keep in mind if we want to represent ourselves in the best possible light.
That doesn't mean we are "begging" to be viewed in a good light... It's just the correct way (IMO) to conduct ourselves....

Just had to put this out here and had this burning sentiment in my mind for a while...

To pro-lifers/anti-choicers/forced-lifers:

When you post the suicide prevention lifeline, or even the crisis textline, WE (SS users) KNOW OF IT'S EXISTENCE. No, we know what "could" happen if we call those hotlines and many of us know the potential consequences resulting from those encounters and interactions with the volunteers on the other side of the line. Not only is it condescending and presumptuous to parade, parrot, push, pedal (etc.) that number, many of us have already decided that suicide is a rational answer and we are NOT impulsive nor attention seekers. You can send your virtuous signals elsewhere, not to us and you are not welcome to invade our sanctuary with your pro-life, anti-choice, life is great mantra. Please take it somewhere else and leave our community alone. Your actions are useless at best and harmful at worst. While you may claim that many regret (after surviving an attempt and/or were intervened on and then 'gotten better'), you are ignoring those that did NOT wish to get better. That is optimism bias as well as cognitive bias. Furthermore, the people who failed (some, not all) regret the failure not because they want to live, but because of the consequences associated with the failed attempt afterwards (which includes a worse quality of life both physically and psychologically, social ostracization, further stigma, and more).

I mean they could very easily post here, send messages here--on the very board they find evil, and ask questions--or even just find out who wants to answer questions so they don't hurt others... who knows, they could even maybe just do the same other places. It is very sad, and quite odd... and rather psychotic. They are trying to figure out who we are on Facebook. Unfortunately (and hilariously) they are thinking we are people who we are not.

They better be very careful. If someone goes up to me saying I'm someone that I am not, I would sue for defamation of character. Especially if they put it in writing.

Odd though. They only write the first name. Not the last. So they aren't really sure if they are correct and are guessing.

I think there are cases where there is no end to the suffering, so ctb is an option. But we need to talk openly so the other cases, where there are alternatives, can be explored.
It's human nature, as soon as you say "No, ctb is NOT an option" we fight that. Let's let go of that.

Chip and the others. Hear this. The bullying behavior you have exhibited towards fragile, mentally ill individuals is one of the reasons why many of these people are here and want to CTB.

They have been treated horribly their entire lives. Finally... behavior that you have exhibited brought them to their breaking point.

You say you are pro life. You hate this forum.

Then why are you partaking in behavior which would push a mentally unstable person to kill themselves?

I hope you receive the psychological help you so desperately need to learn why you want to bully and harass people into killing themselves.

There was a tiny pro-life FB group against this site with almost no members.

A few people here decided to infiltrate it for a joke and made it public they were doing so here.

Those people, and a handful that interact with them, are now getting messages on there and here from pro-lifers.

And this is surprising to people?

It seems to me the only power they have comes from the attention we give them.
