  • Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

Sorry I am a day late. So what is everybody making for their New Years Resolution, if you are doing one at all? If not what are your hopes for next year?

Last year I said I would make a new challenge a week for a whole year and I completed that! Thank you to everyone for your contributions to the thread

Thank you for these challenges! They're amazing 😊

I didn't make any "real" New Years Resolutions but I decided I'll try to journal daily (I usually drop it when I feel awful lol) and that I'm getting help for the depression and anxiety.

Hey, good luck with your recovery! 😊 I'm also in recovery from an ED, this is my 3rd year in recovery! It's been tough but worth it, even though I feel like I might relapse. Life is just too hard at the moment.

Challenge 60: A year in review

Well it's coming to the end of the year so how about you give yourself an end of year review. You may be new to the thread, you may have followed it from the start or you may just browse it intermitently. How have you found the challenges? how many have you completed? Which ones did you like and which ones were a struggle.

Personally I tried to do every challenge each week, granted it is easy for me because I get to set them. Some I couldn't really do like the Geocashing one but I did have a go. I do particular like the cooking ones as it motivates me to get into the kitchen.
Since we won't have a new challenge this week I'm doing this one (I haven't done this before)! I've really enjoyed these challenges a lot, they're fun! My favourites were doing a jigsaw puzzle and the Pooh Pathology Test 😂 I can't remember other ones, it's been a long year haha.

Thank you @carac for these challenges, you rock! 💪💖

I hope to fully recover by the end of this year, find some new friends and also get back to being fit. And lastly, finally spend the summer to make as many memories as possible :D

This is Carac's thread, but since is not around anymore and this has helped me a lot, I would like it to keep it going, so I was thinking what are your favorite Challenges ? Maybe we can bring some of the old ones back, I thought about doing a poll, but I don't think I can put 62 options in it, but feel lfree to go back to the old threads and comment what challenge you did and really liked or one you never did but would like to. 🙃

Then I can do a poll and you all can vote for which one we do next

Thank you so much for this idea and of course carac for so much time and effort for the initial idea and running it consistently for so long!

I loved the variety as time went on - so if one week I really wasn't feeling it or it wasn't something I felt particularly relevant to me (e.g I don't trust uploading photos so can feel limiting with art or 'proof' type challenges), I knew I could keep checking in and it would be something I could do the next week.

Favourites for me were

* online short game links (e.g. geoguesser/quordle/jigsaws)

* 'pay it forward/back' type ideas for spreading love when out and about in the community when am broadly isolated in terms of friends/family but happy being out and about in anonymous environments (e.g. town/supermarket/gym etc)

* an occasional kick up the backside to personally review my own 'to do list' and pick something and do it. Whether thats a specific book or tv show or research or bookmarks or life admin or practical task that I keep personally putting off for no valid reason

* self care reminders - not only a helpful reminder/kick up the backside but can also help reasses what 'normal' levels of self care should/could be. Again the isolation and my own shifting baseline (and a history of wilderness/travel/expeditions) can mean my already low baseline can slip without me realising.

Not sure that helps really, but maybe provides a personal context of why I've really appreciated and valued this thread. I get overwhelmed with decisions and need external accountability. This works so well for that. Thanks again 🫂

Ok, I will do the poll this time, will see how things go.
Before anything else let's re-interate the "rules"
Welcome to the weekly challenge thread!

How this works: Each week I will try to post a challenge. Challenges are open to anyone who wishes to take them up. The intention of the challenges is to give us all a bit of motivation. Maybe push us to try something we might not normally try and to get involved in an activity that we can share with others.

Rules: There are no strict rules only informal guidelines.
Challenges are open to your own interpretation so feel free to be as creative as you want and do as little or as much as you want. You are welcome to adapt the challenge to suit your own needs and requirements.
Challenges should be completed by the end of the week but this is not strict, if you see an old challenge you want to do, by all means show us. If you are a couple of days late, who cares?
Proof of completing challenges is welcome but not neccesary. I will try to post evidence such as a photo but if you want to just write that you completed it and say what you did then great. Also challenges will differ in nature so the nature of the evidence may change but please be aware not to dox yourself if this is an issue for you.
Idk how to actually do polls as a reply to a thread, idk if it is possible...Great start :ahhha:

I wanted to honor the begining of this thread so please "vote" on which of the following options (from the old challenges) you guys want for next weeks challenge:

  1. Draw a Pokemon (Simple straight forward and the very fisrt challenge posted here)
  2. Sudoku (Complete a Sudoku, there are lots of sites of apps to play it on)
  3. Clear the Ground ( Is there anything in your house that needed cleaning, well take this oportunity to clean something up!)
  4. Give someone a compliment ( Easy! Or is it? Sometimes an act of kindness may be what lifts someone's day)
  5. Share a Quote ( Do you have any favorite quotes, one that might have helped yuo through tough times? Share it here, it might inspire others)
I choose 1. Draw a pokemon, I like to draw, and would like to honor the very first Challenge posted here by Carac
On the next sunday I will post the official challenge for the winner, and then I will try to keep it going from there every sunday
