As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.
Nice one, even if you can replace a negative thought with just one positive that is a win! Challenge 44: Draw your fear
I thought we could try another creative/drawing challenge. This week the challenge is to draw your fear. Can be whatever you want it's to you decide what that fear could be. Can be literal like spiders or abstract like fear of being alone. If you want to post your work then great but no pressure.
I think my biggest fear is claustrophobia or being trapped so I will have to try and draw something relating to that.

The result was not what I expected.... I tried to make it less schizo but it was impossible lol...
But yeah this is me after losing my purpose and will to keep growing and Life and Struggle eats what's left of me which it would be only negative energy because I would end it all...
Life is my enemy after all

Instead of saying sorry I want to say thank you, and show it with actions, I hope when i make it it's not too late that's all
Even if I lost it I will find another one I am sure, but I will never forget the feeling and I hope by saying thank you this way I will not be "another one"

My first post on the recovery section, I'm liking the vibes on this thread and hope to be an active participant from now on as I'm pretty bored right now.
Just wanted to send my thanks to carac for making the thread as it seems quite fun.
Anyway I'm not exactly a creative person, I feel like I've learned to think like an engineer, a mathematician, a scientist or a philosopher but I've never been able to think like an artist.
Anyway here's a quick sketch, don't think I'll be making a higher quality version, made this on an android tablet using kleki.com and didn't spend too much time on it so surely anyone can make something similar.
See if you can guess the meaning behind it before opening the spoiler, want to know if I'm getting the point across.
My greatest fear is being trapped in an undesirable situation with now way to change it or escape it.
Of course since I'm depressed being alive is constantly undesirable.
The fire represents the suffering of existence and fear of the future, the empty fire extinguisher holder represents no hope of recovery or lack of a solution, the metal EXIT door with various locks represents the feeling of being trapped with no way out as you have to jump through hoops to CTB, me being a fox represents powerlessness as I couldn't use the fire extinguisher even if it was there and I couldn't open the door even if it wasn't locked.
Hope the image got the meaning across first.

Thanks for joining in, you are most welcome. It's so great to see all this participation. Your fear is very close to my own which reminds me I need to start work on mine

Me, too. I am in an "up" cycle after being basically bedfast for the last week or so. Which means I really overdid it today and my chronic pain from my accident has kicked into overdrive. My pain mgmt doc would shit a brick but I've taken twice as much in mg today than I usually do and it has just barely taken the edge off, but dammit I had things that needed to be done.
I have it (my artwork) at the top of my to-do list in the morning. I used to be a fairly decent artist but it has been YEARS since I put any effort into anything. Maybe I should change that.
Ok I wanted to try digital work as I mostly avoid it so I am not very practised. Also I don't think I conveyed my fear very well, I actually don't mind being solitary and can do quite well in my own company.

Ok I am just going to post another challenge type game for people to and get the old grey matter working.
This one is called Semantle, you have to guess the daily word and you do so by making radnom guesses and it tells you how close you are to the actual word. It's not about how the word is spelt but the meaning, hence semantically. How close can you get, can you guess the word.

I managed to get yestedays and the day before. I did use a hint on one of them but I am trying not to now!

Tried it just now, it's very confusing at first but I managed to guess the word, I had to use a lot of hints though. I'll try again later with less hints.

Very interesting concept, I think I understand how it works, it measures the similarity of the words by measuring their distance in multidimensional vector space as the tokens are encoded by a Large Language Model, there's a very nice video by 3Blue1Brown that visualizes this concept if you're interested.

I agree with everyone here, took a lot of hints and 40 odd guesses (even a negative similarity somehow!!?!) but I can see how over time you could possibly get the hang of how it 'works' - or just get increasingly frustrated by it!!!!
I also still have the wordle website bookmarked from the other week and pop onto that for distraction once in a while - though I go through waves of a ton of words back-to-back and then zero interest in it whatsoever!!

Haha yes. Same. (Word #949) Got the 2nd on guess 29 but now over 50 guesses and most the top 10 but still not got it!!! Equally, quite pleased with myself for no hints. Lets see if post night shift brain has any inspiration for it! (Doubtful...)
