I have a similar problem with my cats and my mom.

My mom got me 2 cats to keep me from killing myself back in highschool. I feed them and took care of them when they were kittens for the first year we had them, but once I left for my first semester of college and came back it's like they forgot about me completely.

Now I'm finishing the rest of college from home, and they still don't like me as much as my mom. They always cuddle with her, always sleep with her, and always prefer her over me.

I love my cats, but knowing they prefer my mom over me is extremely depressing.

You're not alone. I took care of 2 of my cats but then I had to give them to my sister so they could have a better life. Now when I came back its like they hate me. Doesnt help that I find out that my sister was locking them in her room almost all day, not cleaning their litterbox regularly, and one them being overweight. I really hate everyone in that household including my cats

My therapist says the same thing, like I'm imagining it, but that definitely wasn't me imagining it, I saw it with my eyes, there's definitely something about my looks or emotions, or something far worse
