Golden retrievers . My favorite breed, maybe I have one in some other timeline.

They're very popular here and seem to be great at most things. Great support dogs too! Perhaps not the best choice for people who barely leave their home though

Oh, she's a lot of work but also a very adaptable breed. She's very energetic and coat-maintaining. Before my crash earlier this year, we'd spend hours every week wandering through nature. That's not possible now, but luckily I have a house with a garden, so she enjoys herself there too. I'm considering moving to an apartment in the future, the maintenance is just too much.

Ah, right! A friend has a Chinese Crested dog, which is pretty cute as well. A bit easier with a cat, but also a lot less company. I hope you'll be able to enjoy some nature again in the not too far distant future Still, just having some greenery to look at can be nice for mental health reasons too :)

Maintenance was my main reason for choosing an apartment. Everything is so simple, especially during winter - no need to deal with the snow (even though there's barely any snow this year)

Yeah, I never really thought about those kinds of things, the "what ifs." Unfortunately, an apartment also has many disadvantages. Mainly noise pollution, as you already mentioned. Well, I'm stuck here for a while anyways.

I really wish you that there is still a way for you to get out of that "hellish" place you are in right now. Just a tiny spark of light! ️
