So, if I would win the jackpot and want to emigrate to one of the Scandinavian countries, which one is preferable?

464Tough one. They're all pretty similar to be honest. The Danes speak gibberish, but they're usually friendly and love to get drunk if you're into that.
Sweden is a nice country, although it can feel a bit more serious and structured.
We Norwegians can be a bit cold, maybe? It's hard to strike a conversation sometimes, unless it's about the weather for some reasonMost Norwegians don't want to feel like they're bothering anyone.
I do think Norway has the most beautiful landscapes though. I would have loved to see the Northern Lights once, but I live too far south.

Norwegian landscape![]()
Great attitude! And I don't want to bother others either. If I were to emigrate, it would be to the middle of nowhere anyway, especially for the beautiful landscapes, even the climate and the many dark hours. Yes, my dream was also to see the Northern Lights one day! Well, northern Norway it is, then. Thanks for answering! We Norwegians can be a bit cold, maybe? Sweden would honestly be my last option...I knew of an amazing person made in Sweden, so I'm sure it's a great place too. Not sure about Denmark though![]()
You're from the land of Saunas?
Sorry if you've mentioned it, my brain is pretty gone these days.

Lol, in a next life perhaps.

From Finland yeah, never mentioned it before though, directly.
Ugh, the same! I walk an average of 16 hours a day with a headphone on and the other 8 hours with earplugs, mainly so I don't have to acknowledge my neighbors and reality in general. If you go too far north you'll end up with light nights in summer and long periods of darkness in winter though. It can be somewhat depressing for some people.
I recently bought an apartment, but the noise is really bothering me. I walk around with ANC headphones most of the time. It's not even that old of a building, from 2010's. I didn't expect it to be this bad, but I'm probably just sensitive to sounds. If I make it out on the other side of whatever this is, I would love to get something more remotely at some point. I have access to a lot of nature nearby though, but I don't even leave my apartment at the moment
Where are you from @MissAbyss ?

467Perkele. Only word i know :P You have so much greenery in Finland though, seems like a beautiful country as well

Awe, the shut-ins club!467
Yeah it's definitely nice, though I've barely seen anything because I don't go anywhere, but this summer I did explore a bunch of nature trails and it was nice as hell!
The site is lagging!!!
(edit) @Sphene @MissAbyss I guess we're all shut-ins![]()
I feel like Netherlands are quite close cultural to the Nordics. I've never been, but would have loved to go on a vacation there some day.Ugh, the same! Hands my preference for "the middle of nowhere". Alaska would also be a good option, hehe.
- Netherlands.

I don't think they differ much. I think we're more direct, more straightforward though, hehe.I feel like Netherlands are quite close cultural to the Nordics. I've never been, but would have loved to go on a vacation there some day.
I get that for sure. My social anxiety has been pretty bad at times. I hate crowds, at least on the bus here no one talks to each otherI did manage to get my drivers license this year at least, although it's 15 years too late :P
Alaska seems so cold though! Don't think I would be able to handle that
@GlassMoon Night night, sleep well!

Aww social anxiety sucks, I'm sorry to hear. Great you got your driver license!I don't have a driver's license, and I probably never will. I'm barely qualified to ride a bike these days; with my attention span, I'd probably crash into a car!
Yeah building an igloo or something and play with bears. Just an exciting cbt experience, you kow.

Good, I've heard horror stories from there.Sweden would honestly be my last option...![]()
Thank you!I find it easier to drive a car, than riding my e-bike somehow. I guess my balance isn't great
Some days I don't dare to drive though, if my brain fog is bad. Don't you have such a nice biking infrastructure over there though? Feel like whenever I see something nice that's bike related, it's from the Netherlands :)
HahaPolar bears scare the shit out of me, seems like an awful way to go

From what I heard they seem to have a problem with shootings and even bombings, don't directly quote me on it but from what I remember, Sweden had the most shootings out of any European country in 2024? I will admit it was a fair amount of months since I read about it, but I do remember it being bad.You mean recently? It's indeed not going well in most European countries at the moment. Like it's a sinking ship!![]()
Indeed, that's true. Unfortunately, I do hold a certain group responsible for that. It can't be mentioned, otherwise we'll be labeled racists. But it's mainly due to the abundance of immigration, which is causing crime rates to skyrocket and many other problems. This is happening in most European countries at the moment. And personally, I think it's becoming our abyss. From what I heard they seem to have a problem with shootings and even bombings, don't directly quote me on it but from what I remember, Sweden had the most shootings out of any European country in 2024?
