Venting Ugghhh, I'm so frustrated

I'm sure I'm not the first one to bring this up, but this whole chat feature requirements are fucking killing me (no pun intended). I joined this forum pretty much exclusively to be able to establish some connections with people who I can relate to, but I can't do this until I meet some unknown requirements for post count, and usage time, and possibly some other things that I haven't even heard of yet. Most people give contradictory accounts so I have no idea what to expect.
I understand that most people in here are in a vulnerable position, so I don't want to just leave generic replies under random people's posts just to increase my post count. I'm really trying to read what they have to say, understand it, and respond in a way that feels personal or benefits them in some way. But this is sooo much effort. Sorry for bitching about this, but I find it upsetting that I have to involve myself into the personal stories of potentially hundreds of people before I get a chance to receive what I came to this forum for in the first place. I love y'all, but trying to relate to all of your personal stories really is taunting.
I hope you don't find all this complaining to be insensitive. I know it's not a big deal in the face of what all of us are going through

I had no clue there was requirements for the chat feature. I just used the forum normally and clicked on chat some time later.

Just yesterday the chat worked for me and i thought it was a new feature

Ohh, thank you for telling me that. I assume this means that you need around 300 posts then. Also, I didn't really phrase it properly. I mostly just want to be able to have private conversations with the members. I'm still curious about the chat feature, but it is secondary.
I believe that as of now I can send PMs to people, but I can't see neither my messages, nor their replies (even though they receive my messages). But idk, maybe I'm just stupid or something and simply can't find it

Huh, lucky you ig. I'm trying to keep making posts without spamming, but there's just not that much activity in regular threads. Though, I've heard that the chat isn't exactly active either..
