We really don't know. Yes, the first person on the scene says he broke a window to get her out but for all we know she could have been waving him back and telling him to leave her alone. You just never know when you hear one side of a story and she will never be able to tell us hers. If she did take Magnus with her, who are we to judge? she knew exactly what she was doing, she explained he would never settle with anyone else and German Shepherds are notoriously one owner dogs.
She went on the day and time she wanted and she is at peace now. Love and blessings to her wherever she may be, always 20/01/2019
We can all pretend that actually this was nice and peaceful and exactly what she appeared to want, purely to make us feel better, but come on, we all know deep down that this went very badly wrong, l just hope she wasn't in as much pain and terror as could be assumed. It's so horrible.
Fwiw l can not ever sympathise with the decision to kill a defenceless but healthy animal against its will purely because of some romantic notion that the dog will take the same "journey", dogs are very loving and very loyal and this particular dog has suffered for that loyalty. Obviously that's not the main issue here, but l feel very strongly about this.
