Good summary of Rand.
Thanks. She said herself in an interview that the weak "doesn't deserve love". Does that mean that Donald Trump does because he is rich and powerful?

Pretty much. You should see her interview with Donahue back in the 80s...the lady was a psychopath. Wonder if that's the interview you are referring to but she echoed the same idiotic lunacy in all interviews/books/rants.

She and Jordan Peterson should have spawned a devil child.

I bet The Fountainhead is on his nightstand, same copy from when he was 16 and thought the world was his oyster.

I couldn't agree more. I watched her Donahue and Chris Wallace interview. She defiantly was a sociopath who turned her mental status into a philosophy.

It would probably be over double that number if ODs were included that didn't have a note. If you get to the point where you're living on the streets doing crack, heroine, etc. with reckless abandon is that not suicide?

You remind me.
I once saw a hilarious video of the police in the UK.
They were running away from the criminals, because they didn't have any guns.
Here every cop has a gun and he is not afraid to use it.

Where is "here"? Because in Texas, every college cop car has a shotgun and high velocity semi-automatic. I've been to both community college and university and both were the same.

I only appreciate rich people who earned the wealth honestly and legally.
Not that yellow pumpkin

Here , meaning all over the USA.
It's not like in Europe, where it's impossible to get a gun.

Ayn Rand fan?

Former libertarian here but I grew out of that in my early 20s.
I remember something similar of myself.

Was it Rand who wrote that at some point even capitalism will eventually eat itself? I may not be quoting it exactly, and perhaps she didn't even write it.

Most importantly, how was my 20's that long ago? :,-(

Legal wealth can be pretty subjective.

"I'll never tire of repeating it: it's not the market. Diabolic substances are a fantasy of romantics and bankers. The stuff can be good or bad, just as an apple can be good or bad; a man can be bad, just as a dog can be bad. It's men who decide how they make use of the substances and the money. Not the other way around."
Written by Luca Rastello in his book: I am the Market How to Smuggle Cocaine by the Ton, In Five Easy Lessons.

The author writes of one particularly successful smuggler, Bonazzi, and compares him to entrepreneurs in general. Having been an entrepreneur, as well as being raised by a few and working with other entrepreneurs of many kinds, in different capacities throughout my life, this is indeed the case. I've spent a couple years in this book. So. Many. Distractions. However, it may be the best $1 I have ever spent at the Dollar Tree.

Ugh here are some sobering statistics brought to you by Wikipedia.

"Nonfatal suicide attempts can result in serious injury. 700,000 (or more) Americans survive a suicide attempt each year. People who attempt hanging and survive or charcoal grill carbon monoxide poisoning can face permanent brain damage due to cerebral anoxia. People who take an overdose and survive can face severe organ damage (e.g., liver failure). Individuals who jump from a bridge and survive may face the rupture of multiple organs and severe damage to the spine. Some 89,000, (17%) of these people are permanently disabled, restricted in their ability to work."

Yeah, it's fucking hard to kill yourself. A lot harder than many people ever realize. I feel the need to be informed about what can go wrong, but then I'm that much more concerned about what else I may not know. Leaves my head spinning...

Same here. It fucking sucks. Statistically twice as many people survive but live with permanate disabilities than succeed at CTB. This is all due to the fact that most of us don't have easy methods and the pro-lifers put us into a corner where we become desperate.

I never thought about the cumulative damage all my attempts have done up until now. Oh, I should have been kinder to this body of mine.

Death with dignity is beautiful. I hope I live long enough to see more of the world accept this as a reasonable solution for those suffering from debilitating mental and physical illness.

Fucking depressing how after all those awful statistics their concern is whether or not they can work sufficiently.

Yeah, like that's what matters.
I hate it when they talk about the economic impact of suicide.

I don't get the hype around Peterson. I find him cold, robotic and sociopathic. He's like a man child spawned from 4Chan.
