  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

is to focus on what benefits you feel death offers.

For me: no people while ironically craving their company, eternal quiet, no more constant anxiety

So true!
However, SI and fear are a couple of bitches that don't allow me to get on that bus. (yet)

I tend to focus on specifics. No nothing covers everything but is too abstract to offer any comfort

It's the way I overcome my SI. Not for everyone but works for me if I list in that order

I don't have to be a perfectionist anymore
I won't need to earn money any longer
my legs won't hurt any longer
I won't feel like an alien amongst humans any longer

I won't have to feel like I'm housing a rotten corpse anymore. I can rest.

Personally I found familiarizing myself with the environment has helped. Getting hit by a train is scary no matter how much I think about the benefits, but by standing on the tracks, being near them, watching trains pass and thinking about getting hit I have found the mental barrier is getting way easier to cope with. It's not particularly scary now compared to what it was before.

I will be chanting the litany against fear when it's time. It kinda works for everything and it's a good calming thing for me and I hope it helps with SI.

What's that?
It's a prayer/poem from the sci fi novel Dune
"I must not fear.Fear is the mind-killer.Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.I will face my fear.I will permit it to pass over me and through me.And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain."

I tried to read that book but stopped when they were traveling in the desert. I hate the desert as a landscape and hearing them talk about how thirsty they were and how they were running out of water was hard to stomach.

For me, the unselfish benefit that death offers is no longer being a burden to those who love me. They don't deserve that. The hard part is the interim pain my death will cause them; that's what has stopped me. But they will heal and be able to move on with their lives. So I have to get past the irrational fear I have of hurting them and try to focus on the long-term benefits to them. It's just really, really hard to do.

Your pain is more important.

Your constant anxiety is because you keep repeating old familiar comfortable patterns

It's your body's way of screaming for change

Right. Some people are unable to change their pattern because of literal brain damage. Of coarse.

Yeah, in a way it's the origin of your anxiety.
But the anxiety itself is what I described above.

I can see there is substantial damage. I'm sorry for that.
Good luck with life.
You're not too bright. Actually saying, "Good luck with life" on a suicide forum lol What a world.

Sometimes it's hard to interpret sarcasm in text.
Maybe I was wrong but it looked like sarcasm from your view.

My bad and I'm sorry if I interpreted that wrong.

Each person has their own way to overcome it. Some people don't even have to overcome it. It's interesting.
