It's kind of both.
This may sound odd, but certain things 'speak' to me intuitively, like the right colour or design or shape. I instinctively know when something is going to be right and all the other stuff isn't, even though most peoples would say it's fine.
But also, certain random actions scream 'disaster!' at me for no reason and all of a sudden.
Like I'm going to pick up a stone and I'll get a massive intuitive 'no!' And if I do select it, then I get a horrific sense of certain impending doom that I cannot shake.
It's bloody horrible tbh. It's like dodging raindrops and if any of them hit you it's catastrophic.
Does any of that make any sense?

Some of it, yeah. I dont get reactions as strong as "impending doom" though, that sounds very unpleasant :( Mine are more like... unshakeable dissatisfaction? It makes it where I actually become wishful for my odd gut instincts. Sometimes I'll be doing something and I wont get any "hints" from my gut about how to change something to be perfectly satisfying to me. Like if I were to be doing something simple like cooking without a recipe. Despite knowing how to make tasty meals and having a ton of experience with cooking, I'll have this odd inherent dissatisfaction with meals. I'll cook it all correctly, use logical combinations I know will taste good, itll turn out beautiful and tasty... But my gut didn't speak to me during cooking on how to make it acceptable in my mind, so I don't like the meal. It's hard to describe. I can eat the dish and it tastes good and is filling. But the dishes mere existence is causing me discomfort. This ends up causing other frustrations also. The other day I made a meal that I was happy with and even had leftovers! And when I went to go eat them I realized someone had ate the leftovers. HOW FUCKING DARE THEY! Normally it wouldnt even be a problem or anything, but that meal was sacred. So I'm like irrationally mad and I know I cant even bring it up without sounding like a nutcase to them. Lots of situations like that though. Where I will want to just start over with a clean slate on something because its bothering me and I am hopeful I'll find a "hint" on the next try. Theres also obsessions with symmetry and the number 5 and strong vibes I get from things like color and sounds.

I didn't think I'd ever talk about this. I feel self-conscious about it even here haha

Time to spend another day reading fluffy fanfiction instead of finishing my assignments.

I can see the bullet coming at me in slow motion like neo in the matrix. Things are starting to look grim.

@Brick In The Wall wish it didn't have to be that way for you. Life's a gamble but dammit the bad gambles ruin everything.

Had kind of a freak out last night into today... my laptop froze and it was stuck on S.S. :ohhhh::ohhhh::ohhhh: I eventually got it working this afternoon. (I really didn't try before then). I was freaking out cuz rebooting it didn't work and I couldn't take it anywhere to have it looked at if I couldn't fix it. I'm not even sure if any places are even open cuz of the quarantine anyway. Anyway … I finally got it working again. Not even sure what I did. (Whew)

Time to write a one act play about a 50 year old king coming to a castle to try to kill a dragon and steal the treasure and 11 year old girl he is protecting. So that the king can marry her and have kids.

Wonder how my super conservative and unoriginal creative writing teacher will react to this.

So the king is a paedo but hates himself for it and doesn't want to be, the dragon is a pacifist intellectual who just wants to be left alone to look at the stars, and the girl is tough as nuts like Arya Stark and has a secret agenda to take advantage of the king.
How did I do?:hihi:
Oh and the dragon eats hem both at the end because after all, he's a dragon.

Nah, I was not risking writing something that wouldn't qualify as "good wins, evil loses", so I wrote a pedo king who sees the girl as a thing he deserves, the dragon is just a chill dude living with the girl, and the girl is the badass female protagonist who just wants a quiet life with the dragon. Also, there's a narrator commenting on the whole thing. King gets a sword through the gap between the shoulder blades in the end.

I was thinking about one where the girl walks away from both, disgusted by their stupid macho one-upmanship, somewhat along the lines of what you suggested. (Invert the dragon and girl's role, essentially.)

On a related note, I'm considering writing a piece on AO3 for some writing practice... It's something I want to do going forward.

The second plot sounds good to me. I like stuff where the hero's die though, after being built up by the author.

AO3?

Oh dear. I can see that site being a time sink for me.
If you want to save time, just add the tag "Crack". Might add to the experience.

Sometimes the tags that people put on their stuff make me want to chug bleach.

I've mostly stuck to fandoms I know and understand, such as Steven Universe and Undertale.

I don't think I could write a fandom. I like creating characters rather than using someone else's.

I agree, writing your own story is probably going to be more fulfilling. There's a lot of original work on AO3 as well, and it's often pretty good. Especially if it's a one-shot.

I find AO3 interesting because you get to see the common mistakes that writers make when coming up with a story. The uneven pacing, the badly choreographed action, the underdeveloped supporting cast, overuse of rape/non-con elements, all that stuff. You also get to see the things that people often get right - good hook, good characterization for MCs, good worldbuilding, emotionally communicative writing, and so on. It's been a good way for me to learn what to do and what not to do.

Hadn't thought of that but it makes perfect sense.
