That's fucking pitiful. And we contribute to it. Makes me ashamed. I recycle, but I suspect half of it isn't recycled. It will be an over-abundance for future archaeologists if we managed to dodge our fast encroaching extinction.I thought the whale's eye looked odd. I'm not surprised it's an art installation. People passed it around on Facebook like it was real.
This photo is of the Great Pacific Garbage Patch, twice the size of Texas, in which trash has gathered between California and France. It is one of five major trash islands in the world's oceans. Some of the trash is 50 years old. And it's not all plastic. There are even objects like refrigerators.
