In case there isn't already a thread.

I have actually never self harmed before but I am experiencing strong urges, and I am curious and want to learn more.
How do people who SH clean up all the blood? Do you guys typically bandage up the wounds?
How quickly do cuts tend to clot and stop bleeding?

two weeks ago I cut really deep, a lot of blood was flowing out of the wound and I used like 10 tissues and some toilet paper when the tissues were out. It normally isn't that difficult to clean up when you make light cuts but when you cut deep you should go into the bathroom, so you have it easier to clean up in case some blood still drips on the floor.
when I was in a similar situation as you, with experiencing urges regarding sh, I made a post about it and one user replied, that whatever I do I should not start cutting because when you do it once it becomes an addiction. His arm has become like a chopping board after he done it. And now I'm here, I'm doing it now for several months, trying to get clean again and having stripes like a zebra on my left arm. so please, don't do it, maybe take a walk outside, read a book or do other things you like to do when you feel the urge to distract yourself. I can't say you have to do it but that's my recommendation.

I'm hoping to CTB very soon anyway. Even though it's considered a non method here, one way I am considering CTB is cutting (or maybe more accurately, stabbing). So I guess I think of it as practice

Anytime you plan to sh you should also make sure you have enough supplies to clean during the sh session and for after when it heals.

Best of luck hun

No problem. I originally made this document for the people on shtwt. I wish I would've known more about sh aftercare when I first started, which is why i made this docs and it's mostly based of my experience

No problem! It's mostly based off my experience and I feel like not many people know how to do proper sh aftercare, which is why I made this

My post was taken down as this website doesn't allow google docs links, so I decided to post it directly here instead:
