Existence has no intrinsic value. This is a fact, not an opinion. Every attempt to assign meaning to it is an illusion, a desperate effort to fill a void that is its only reality. The freedom that defines us as human beings is a condemnation: anguish arises from knowing I can choose, but that every choice is devoid of ultimate meaning.
Anguish is the vertigo that envelops me when I realize that nothing binds me, that I am suspended in a bottomless abyss. Despair, on the other hand, is the failure to live in harmony with this truth. It is the inability to accept that there is nothing beyond what is here and now. Those who fail to recognize this condition live in self-deception, clinging to prefabricated beliefs or the hope of a higher order.
Man is a living paradox, an irresolvable knot of the finite and infinite, the temporal and the eternal. This is not a cause for celebration but a condemnation to perpetual tension. There is no resolution, no peace. Every attempt to escape this condition—whether through religion, morality, or philosophy—only perpetuates the deception.
Accepting the lack of value in existence is not an act of surrender but the only authentic gesture. To stare into the void without turning away, to embrace the absence of meaning as an integral part of reality. There is no redemption, nor is there a need to seek it. Existence rests on nothingness, and it is in nothingness that its deepest truth lies.
There is no meaning to be found. Meaning is a human construct, an attempt to mask the nakedness of reality. Only those who abandon all illusion, who accept the violence of this awareness, can live authentically. There is nothing else to add. The void is all that exists, and recognizing it is the only possible act.
