So I just place the bags on my neck use the Ratchet around my neck and keep the bags in place by tightening the Ratchet and then slowly tighten it closer and closer? This should block the blood flow and I would go unconscious and die?

That just makes me sad I thought maybe I could try this instead of partial
u gotta go through full process.. instead of stopping in the middle .. just stay calm while u feel like ur head wud explode except it wudnt.. its only temporary and u wud lose ur consciousness within 15- 45 sec. if u somehow decided to stop at 20 sec or more if ur conscious, u might slightly feel dizzy because of all the sudden rush of o2 to brain ..

Each time I 'test' this using my hands I am often able to compress the artery and although the feeling each time is slightly different with different intensity, I don't feel pressure, or inability to breathe or discomfort. I tried it again right now when sat at the PC and although it took slightly longer than before, I applled pressure with my fingers and thumb, felt a very slight light-headedness - almost bringing calmness in a nice way. I then applied a bit more pressure and for a second or two felt no different but then I could feel my head slowly tilting forward, then a bit more, and more as a rush of a tingly feeling filled my head and went through my body. When I released my grip the tingly feeling stayed for a few seconds. I didn't tilt my head back or anything, I just did it while looking at the screen. I can only assume in a few more seconds I would have passed out completely.

But when I have tried with my attempts at 3D printing something, or socks, or toilet rolls. Something doesn't go correctly. I end up just getting a head full of pressure and I am unable to tighten what I am using (spoon, tie) any more without my breathing being affected, or it pinching my skin.

So, I know I only have to experience the tingly feeling and calmness, for it to work, however when using objects instead of fingers and thumb, the pressure cannot be concentrated as well so the pressure might have to be a side effect of the method. Ultimately though, feeling pressure isn't an indication it is working, or it isn't working. The tingly feeling, tilting head and calmness is (perhaps the calmness is expereinced by me because I am so under stress, but if the stress is not already there this feeling might not be noticable) what I am aiming for even when using objects. If I feel some pressure fisrst it wont be a cause to abort, but it could indicate I'm getting it a bit wrong. I'm aiming for no build up of pressure at all though which may require smaller but still soft and firm objects.

tried is yesterday night. you can read my story I made a thread about it. I failed but I think I was close.

The bags should be small. Mine were too large I suppose.

Is there a reason why people are saying to get ratchets without the S hook?

You don't have to squeeze your neck. Pull out your left hand. Sit straight. Face directly in the front. Use your thumb and the left index and middle fingers joined together to form a U shape. place your left thumb on the left side of your neck and the combination of index and middle fingers on the right side of the neck. Look for a blob that pulses. It should be a little above the adam's apple on either side of the neck. When you feel that pulse, push it inside to compress the blob. This blob is called the carotid sinus. If you do it right, you will feel dizzy and your vision will begin to fade after 5 seconds. If nothing happens in 5 seconds, you are doing it wrong. Keep experimenting till you do it right. And it works better if you have a lean and thin neck. I took around 15 minutes to find the sweet spot.
been trying for a while, am I just weak and not pressing hard enough or does the pressure not matter as much and I just haven't found the right spot?

Withour being familiar with this, this was the first method I thought of to CTB, cut off the bloodflow and pass out without issues.

I'm so fucking tired. I can't pass out at all with the corn bags. I can begin to faint when I feel for the arteries but that doesn't translate through the bags at all.

I failed to do this dozens of times too. I never tried corn bags, I tried socks, rice, toilet rolls and other things but have only been able to get anything to go right just using my hands.

ok so I tried w/ folded up socks instead of corn bags and used a neck tie to choke myself out that way because using just my hands wasn't working. Gotta say it really isn't that bad, I blacked out after a few seconds but cus it worked so well I'm having second thoughts because I didn't really expect it to be as quick and easy as it was.

I am having trouble finding my arteries and while I know it isn't as simple as telling me where they are, I'd like a little help.

Is it normal to feel any level of pressure on my windpipe?

How much pressure should be put on the arteries to correctly find their location?

I have been using my palms to squeeze, should I be using my fingertips?

Is there any other indication that I've found the spot aside from passing out?

Find the pulse on either side of ur neck and put them there that's what I did. Be patient and keep trying, I did it pretty much straight away the first time (by accident I think) but the second time took me a solid 30mins before I pressed the right spot.
Question- I get the fuzzy tingling feeling in my face when I do this, but my ears feel weird, almost like they're going to explode or something. Is that normal?

From what I read ear ringing is normal. At least a lot of people mentioned it.

I will try to answer to the best of my abilities:

1) No, you should feel absolutely no pressure on your windpipe. Even when you don't squeeze the correct arteries and you get the exploding head feeling, you should still be able to breathe unobstructed.

2) You should be able to see the pulsing spots if you put your face up to a mirror. In order to get your heart to pump more blood, you can engage into physical effort, and that will make the arteries more apparent. I have a weak physical form, something like 20 squats in a rapid succession will make my carotid pulse pop into view easily. As for the pressure, that's hard to convey.

3) Your fingertips should be enough. When I practice using my hands, I only use my thumbs, but like the whole area of the thumb, not just the tip of it.

4) Practicing with your hands will never lead to passing out, as your hands will drop before you're able to squeeze for long enough. However, you should get a tingling sensation in your whole body. Mind you, it is NOT painful, it's just crazy how fast it spreads. It will start in your chest and in less than a second shoot throughout your whole body. However, that's not always the case, I assume it depends on the applied pressure, but a more common sign is that your vision goes dark in like 5 to 10 seconds. At that point, your hands will drop and your brain will be in a state where it's buffering for 2 seconds and you have no idea what just happened.

Hope this helps. I am quite proficient with getting the desired feeling with my hands, unsuccessful so far with ratchet and cornhole bags. But getting it right with your hands is an important step.

Here's another form of ratchet. You could probably combine it with rolled up socks.

Holy shit, I found it. That was really disorienting. It was just so easy, I really can't believe it. I can now ctb like this. I feel like I've really secured my own exit, I am confident I can replicate that. Fuck man, I don't know whether I'm happy or terrified.

Yes, you nailed the word, where I tried to use the metaphor "the brain is buffering". It is indeed disorienting. You probably also noticed that what I mean by "your hands drop". It's not that they flop as if you fully fainted, you're just not aware when you released pressure, and when your brain "reconnects", only then you remember what you were doing. I suggest practicing more with your hands, but after all I don't think proficiency is key to success. It's good to do it more times with your hands so you really understand what the correct feeling is (no pain, no exploding head, no hard breathing), but ultimately, when you go for the ratchet with your mind set on CTB, you only need to get it right once.

In my case I am ready to CTB, so in the eventuality I get it right with the ratchet, I won't need to uncinch it or release the pressure. Unfortunately, so far I was unable to get it with the ratchet. I see there are more people in my situation. But getting it right with your hands shows that OP is not preaching a fake method, the sensation is as real as it gets, and the recommended timeframe for not being found is only a window of 5 minutes. I assume that anyone that doesn't live alone, can find a 30 minutes window at least, which should be more than sufficient for CTB.

This is one of my other baskets! The feeling is surreal. Wierdly comforting. I have been choked so many times including blood choked to unconsciousness, and a neck tourniquet style blood choke would never have occurred to me. Brilliant.

My only problem is I have a fat neck. My plan is to order a ratchet strap that is as wide as my neck is long. Then shape some slightly compressible foam blocks so that they sit against my carotid comfortably for the entire length of my neck. I think the more surface area I can cover, the more effective it'll be. I'll probably end up pinching my windpipe a little bit but, it's something I'm familiar with anyways. I can do this.

I'm not sure this will help, but I had the same difficulty and this is what I did.

I sat down on the floor and leaned my head back on a seat. This caused my neck to stretch which made locating the spot easier. This is basically all the advice I have for you LetMeBeSad, wishing you luck.

Then I searched for the pulse with my thumbs. I ended up making a choking signal with my hands with only my thumbs actually touching my neck. IMG 7543
Imagine this image but with my head back. No pressure on my wind pipe at all.

That worked better. Just needed a stretch lol. I think the wide ratchet straps would work well given I will have to stretch my neck in a similar fashion. This is amazing. It's still surreal how oddly comforting it is to know that I have a feasible method. Thanks.

You seem to really understand all of this. Do you think this could actually work to CTB and not only blackout? If people are waking up after they blackout how are we suppose to actually finish the job with this method? Thanks for your time if you decide to answer

That's a good question. I cannot speak for those who woke up after blacking out. But the reason I imagine this happens is because people use misc items such as a belt for a strap, or a homemade tourniquet, as well as makeshift cornhole bags, such as rolled up shirts, socks filled with rice, etc. If the custom setup is prone to loosening over time, or the items you use to press on the arteries can shift position, if your body starts to convulse slightly and the setup loosens/shifts a little, then your arteries may start pumping enough blood such that eventually you regain consciousness. In my tests with an actual ratchet and actual cornhole bags sized 8x8cm (3.14x3.14in), once I tighten the ratchet enough, the cornhole bags will not move no matter what.

Note that I am not saying you cannot make your setup from custom items you can source, if any of the required ones are inaccessible in your country. I'm just saying you probably have to be careful with the aforementioned points and make sure the setup is sturdy.

Thanks for all the tips in this thread, initially I had tried using the spot at my lower neck (blue) because that's the spot for partial iirc, but I was only really able to get my fingers deep enough on one side.

The spot higher up which I believe is the right one for night night (red) is far easier to push with my thumbs, the only question that remains, which direction do I push?
towards the center of the throat, towards the back of the neck / spine, or perpendicular to the skin (so about center of the throat too ig)?
