Saw it today, really great episode. Guessing it was some opiate mixture, but the way they administered it with the powder in the drink really overpowered me as all I could think of was how similar taking a dose of SN would be to that situation and I started crying uncontrollably :(

In the letter to Joel he suggested 40 vicodin pills should he ever want to go the same route, so he must have crushed up a lot if it was "enough to kill a horse", I immediately came here to search for Vicodin info lol. Surprised they didn't feel like throwing up.

An exceptionally beautiful episode of television. I kept getting dust in my eyes throughout...

Seems pretty good so far, 3 episodes in. But I was a big fan of the game so I might be biased.

That sounds like a bad idea, anything containing a lot of paracetamol is not a good way to go (paracetamol OD is terribly painful). Even the hydrocodone from it alone is not reliable for fatal ODing on, at least from what I've just recently read on the forums.

I guess in a zombified? (I know they're technically not the traditional zombies) apocalyptic world you can't be too picky with your methods of CTBing.

Makes sense... and yeh not sure on how effective that method is beyond knowing that high dose of opioids + alcohol is generally a pretty lethal combo. Can't imagine they'd go into detail about adverse effects after taking it as it would've taken away from the moment lol

Was just about to make a post about it myself after seeing YouTube videos on the episode but I see people beat me to it, thankfully. :)

What's intriguing to me is all the people in the comments saying what a nice death it is, etc, etc. Ironic, how people will perceive it as a nice death in this situation in a TV show, yet in our real world it's frowned upon by society.

This seems to be a trend, media portrays euthanasia as a good thing quite frequently. Or even as an inevitable thing. Yet, it's still taboo in the real world. It's almost like an open secret. Like everyone (well, not literally everyone, but I think most people) generally agrees that euthanasia is a good thing, but ignores the fact it's not an acceptably legal thing in our society (or in most countries anyway).

I hope that portrayals such as that in The Last Of Us will make people think about it more and, hopefully, make it somewhat more acceptable. Sometimes, the best option just is euthanasia.
